Withings’s refund policy
For Withings+ subscriptions, payments are non-refundable and partial periods aren't credited, you keep access until the current billing period ends. For physical devices bought from withings.com, there's a 30-day return window: log in, go to order status, click 'Return My Order', print the free label and ship it back. Refunds process 5 to 10 business days after the warehouse receives the device. U-Scan and other hygienic items can't be returned once opened.
“Payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for any partial subscription periods or unused services. Note: You won't be charged if you unsubscribe before the end of your trial period.”

Does Withings charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Withings’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Withings
Based on 5 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Cancelling a phone-purchased subscription from the Withings web dashboard, Withings requires you to cancel via the same channel you signed up through, App Store subscriptions must be cancelled in iOS Settings, Play Store ones in Google Play.
- ✕ Requesting a pro-rata refund for unused Withings+ months, Terms explicitly state payments are non-refundable for partial periods or unused services.
- ✕ Cancelling while logged in as a secondary profile, The cancel option only appears for the primary account-holder on the web dashboard.
- ✕ Returning an opened U-Scan for a refund, U-Scan is classified as a hygienic product and cannot be returned once touched or used.
- ✕ Returning a device after the 30-day window via self-service, The 'Return My Order' button only works within 30 days of purchase; later requests need Customer Service approval.
Cancelled Withings but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Withings, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@withings.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Withings’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Withings charges again.
How Withings will try to keep you
Withings may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Free-trial extensions / bundled-trial confusion (1 free month with device, 3 months free with ScanWatch 2/Nova)”
You say: Note your exact trial end date in the app, the trial starts on device installation, not purchase. Set a reminder 48 hours before that date and cancel in-app to avoid the auto-charge of $9.95/€9.95/£8.95 monthly or $99.50/€99.95/£89.95 yearly.
They’ll say: “Channel-mismatch friction (signed up in-app, tries to cancel on web)”
You say: If you subscribed via iPhone/Android, the web dashboard won't show a cancel button, go to iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Withings+, or Google Play → Payments & Subscriptions → Withings+.
They’ll say: “Slow refund processing on device returns (Reddit users report waiting 30+ days)”
You say: If your refund hasn't landed 10 business days after FedEx confirms delivery to Withings' warehouse, email support@withings.com with the FedEx tracking number and order ID, and request escalation. EU/UK buyers can cite the 14-day statutory refund deadline from termination.
They’ll say: “Withings+ features framed as essential (Cardio Check-Up, Withings Intelligence, AI insights)”
You say: Your device keeps working with the free Health Mate app, weight, ECG recordings, sleep stages, heart rate and trends are all free. Only Health Improvement Score, AI insights and the cardiologist review are paywalled.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires Withings to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Withings has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Withings’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Withings’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Withings must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Withings account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Withings’s account settings, email support@withings.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
