The fastest way
TravelSpend Premium is billed through Apple or Google Play, so you cancel there. In the app, go to Settings and tap your subscription, or open your store's Subscriptions page. Do it at least 24 hours before renewal. Email can't cancel it. For refunds, ask the store or email info@travel-spend.com with the subject 'Refund request, TravelSpend Premium'. Confirmation time isn't known.
Or let yoink do it for you.

- Online (fastest): Direct cancel flow: apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
- Email: TravelSpend doesn’t process cancellations by email. Still worth sending one: it dates your cancellation request in writing, which matters for disputes and refunds.
Timing matters: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. If you cancel inside that window, Apple or Google may still charge you for one more period. Android users cancel in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
The email that backs it up
TravelSpend won’t action a cancellation from an email alone, use the fastest channel above for the cancellation itself. This email still earns its place: it puts your cancellation date in writing (your evidence if they keep billing) and it’s where the refund request happens.

Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi TravelSpend team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. I'm giving notice ahead of my next renewal date and expect no further charges from that date. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]

TravelSpend plans you can cancel
- Free$0.00/mo
Free forever. There is nothing to cancel. Premium subscribers who cancel drop back to this tier.
- Premium (Monthly)$4.99/mo
Billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period. To cancel, go to the app's Settings, tap your subscription, and you'll be sent to the store's cancel screen. Premium stays active until the end of the paid period.
- Premium (Annual)$24.99/yr
Billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and renews automatically every year. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. If you cancel inside that window, Apple or Google may already have started processing the renewal charge. Prices vary by country and promotion. A 50%-off first-year code is widely shared.
- Lifetime Premium Access
A one-off purchase, usually listed at $59.99 (a $99.99 tier also appears on the App Store). It doesn't renew, so there's nothing to cancel. If you're switching from a subscription, cancel the subscription first or you'll be billed for both.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
Every TravelSpend charge is a Premium in-app purchase, either a monthly or annual subscription or a one-off Lifetime unlock. Apple's App Store or Google Play processes all of them. Their help center says you can always ask the store that billed you for a refund. Their terms also accept refund requests at info@travel-spend.com, but refunds are at the company's discretion and no fixed refund window is published. If you cancel a subscription, Premium stays active until the end of the paid period with no partial refund. Cancelling less than 24 hours before renewal may not stop that renewal charge.
“If you have issues with our TravelSpend Premium upgrade or would like to request a refund, please email info@travel-spend.com (we reserve the right to offer or refuse refunds at our sole discretion).”

Does TravelSpend charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in TravelSpend’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling TravelSpend
Based on 7 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Cancelling less than 24 hours before the renewal date, TravelSpend's help center warns that Apple or Google may already be processing the renewal, so you can still be charged even if you cancelled the same day. The subscription then just won't renew again after that.
- ✕ Emailing TravelSpend support to cancel the subscription, Payments are 'processed and managed through the iTunes or Google Play Store', so the developer can't stop store billing. Cancelling has to happen in your Apple or Google subscriptions. Email only helps for refund requests and paper trails.
- ✕ Deleting the TravelSpend app, The subscription belongs to your Apple ID or Google account, not the app install. Deleting the app doesn't cancel it, so you have to cancel in the store's subscription settings.
- ✕ Buying Lifetime without cancelling your existing subscription, TravelSpend's help center says to cancel your active subscription first and then buy Lifetime. If you skip that, the old subscription keeps renewing through the store.
Cancelled TravelSpend but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from TravelSpend, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@travel-spend.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on TravelSpend’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if TravelSpend charges again.
How TravelSpend will try to keep you
TravelSpend may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Pointing users to a 50%-off Premium discount code. The website advertises '50% Off TravelSpend Premium', the help center has a discount-code article, and affiliate codes are widely shared.”
You say: A discount only matters if you still use Premium. If you don't, cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions at least 24 hours before renewal. A cheaper renewal is still a renewal.
They’ll say: “Suggesting a switch to Lifetime Premium instead of cancelling (their help center lays out the steps for changing plans)”
You say: Lifetime is a separate one-off charge, usually $59.99. If you're leaving, just cancel the subscription and you'll keep the free tier and your trip data.
They’ll say: “Refund decisions at the company's 'sole discretion' under the terms”
You say: You don't need TravelSpend's approval. Their own help center says you can always request a refund from the app store that processed the payment, so go to Apple or Google first and email info@travel-spend.com as a backup.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires TravelSpend to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; TravelSpend has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of TravelSpend’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If TravelSpend’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. TravelSpend must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your TravelSpend account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in TravelSpend’s account settings, email support@travel-spend.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
