Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi Tokscript team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]

Wait 24 hours. If there's no response, send a polite one-line follow-up referencing the original request.
Tokscript plans you can cancel
- Free Forever$0.00/mo
No credit card needed; nothing to cancel. Paid accounts revert to this tier after cancellation.
- Monthly$10.00/mo
Cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the current billing month, then the account drops to Free.
- Annual$3.25/mo
Billed $39/year up front; cancelling stops the next renewal but keeps access for the remaining 12-month term.
- Lifetime
One-time $69 payment (list $199) with no recurring billing, there is no subscription to cancel, only a refund to request.
- Team / Enterprise workspace
Team pricing is quoted directly, cancellation runs through support@tokscript.com or business@tokscript.com rather than a self-serve toggle.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
TokScript's 7-day no-questions-asked refund applies to paid plan purchases, Monthly ($10), Annual ($39) and the one-time Lifetime charge ($69), counted from the date of the charge, not from when you stopped using it. Outside that window the published policy offers no pro-rata refund: you cancel, keep access to the end of the paid period, and the account drops back to the Free tier. The Free plan involves no charge and nothing to refund. Because billing runs through Stripe on a card or Apple/Google Pay wallet, a card chargeback or bank dispute is the fallback lever when a refund request is refused, and the extension-store reviews show buyers asking for exactly that after the product failed to transcribe.
“Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase, no questions asked. After 7 days, cancel anytime and you'll keep access through the end of your billing period.”

Does Tokscript charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Tokscript’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Tokscript
Based on 7 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Uninstalling the Chrome extension or deleting the app from your browser, TokScript billing runs through Stripe against your account, not the extension, removing the extension leaves the subscription renewing.
- ✕ Leaving a review on the Chrome Web Store asking the developer to cancel and refund, Reviewers have posted cancellation and money-back demands directly in store reviews; that is not a billing channel and there is no evidence it triggers a cancellation.
- ✕ Emailing legal@tokscript.com for a billing cancellation, That address is published only for questions about the terms of service, so a cancellation sent there risks sitting unrouted, use support@tokscript.com and copy legal@ only when escalating.
- ✕ Simply letting the card expire or stopping payment to end an annual plan, The annual plan is charged up front for the full year, so blocking a future payment does not undo the charge already taken or create a refund right after day 7.
- ✕ Asking for a refund on the Lifetime deal months later because you stopped using it, The only published refund window is 7 days from purchase; nothing in the terms or pricing FAQ promises anything beyond it.
- ✕ Expecting cancellation to delete your data, TokScript states your transcripts, folders and saved videos stay in the account after cancellation, deletion is a separate request to support.
Cancelled Tokscript but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Tokscript, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@tokscript.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Tokscript’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Tokscript charges again.
How Tokscript will try to keep you
Tokscript may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Discount anchoring, the site permanently runs an "End of Summer Deal" ($69 Lifetime vs $199) and pushes "Annual saves $81", so cancellation requests are commonly met with an offer to switch to the cheaper annual or lifetime tier instead of refunding.”
You say: "I'm not looking to change plans or take a discount. Please confirm in writing that the subscription is cancelled with no further charges, and process the refund under your published 7-day policy."
They’ll say: “Downgrade deflection, the pricing FAQ frames cancellation as your account simply "dropping back to the free plan" with the library intact, steering users toward keeping the account alive rather than ending billing.”
You say: "Keeping my transcripts on the free tier is fine, but that is not a substitute for cancellation. Please stop the recurring billing now and send written confirmation of the cancellation date."
They’ll say: “Channel diffusion, support is spread across in-app chat, a Featurebase help center, a WhatsApp 'Direct Access' line for paid tiers and email, which makes it easy for a request to be treated as a chat thread that never becomes a formal cancellation.”
You say: "I'm putting this in email deliberately so there is a dated record. Please reply to this address confirming cancellation and refund, a chat or WhatsApp acknowledgement won't be accepted as confirmation."
They’ll say: “Fix-it-first deflection, Chrome Web Store reviewers report bulk and single-video transcription failing after paying for a year, and the usual reply pattern is troubleshooting rather than refunding.”
You say: "The service didn't deliver what was advertised on the pricing page. I'm not asking for troubleshooting, I'm asking for a refund of the $39 annual charge on the grounds the product didn't work as sold."
They’ll say: “Silence past the 7-day clock, the refund window is short, so a slow first reply can push you outside it.”
You say: "For the record, my refund request was sent on [date], inside your 7-day window. Any delay in your reply does not move that deadline. If I have no resolution in 5 working days I'll raise a dispute with my card issuer."
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires Tokscript to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Tokscript has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Tokscript’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Tokscript’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Tokscript must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Tokscript account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Tokscript’s account settings, email support@tokscript.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Tokscript
Log in at tokscript.com and open your account's billing or subscription settings, TokScript bills through **Stripe**, so a plan-management panel is the intended route. TokScript does not publish a direct cancel deep link, so if you can't find the toggle, email **support@tokscript.com** (they advertise a response within 24 hours) with the subject *"Cancel subscription, [your account email]"*. Cancelling doesn't cut you off immediately: you keep full access until the end of the current billing period, after which the account drops back to the Free plan and your saved transcripts stay in place. Save the confirmation email.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Tokscript refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Tokscript contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
