The fastest way
THE LIST isn't a subscription. What you cancel is an order. Email customercare@thelist.app with the subject 'Cancel order #[number], full refund' within 2 business days, before the partner boutique processes it. If it has already shipped, request a return within 14 days of delivery. Refunds go back to your original payment method once the return is checked, which takes up to 7 days.
Or let yoink do it for you.

The List plans you can cancel
- One-off designer order (no subscription or membership)
Contact Customer Care within 2 business days to cancel or change an order. THE LIST says it cannot cancel once a partner boutique has processed the order. After that, use the returns route instead. Free worldwide shipping on orders over $300.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
THE LIST is a luxury fashion marketplace with no subscription, so every rule here is about one-off product orders. For orders that haven't shipped, you can cancel by contacting Customer Care within 2 business days, before a partner boutique processes the order. For delivered items, request a return in writing within 14 days of delivery and ship it back within 7 days of approval. Once the item is received, refunds are processed within up to 7 calendar days and go to your original payment method. Late or non-compliant returns are refunded only at THE LIST's discretion and only as site credit. Vintage and pre-owned pieces can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
“We accept return requests within 14 days from the date your order was delivered. Once your return request is approved, you will have 7 days to ship the item back to us.”

Does The List charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in The List’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling The List
Based on 7 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Asking to cancel after the partner boutique has processed or shipped the order, THE LIST's Orders & Shipping page says it can't cancel an order once a partner has processed it. You have to wait for delivery and use the 14-day return route instead.
- ✕ Filing a card chargeback while also negotiating a refund with THE LIST, A Trustpilot reviewer was offered a refund, then told days later there would be no refund because they had disputed the charge, and was asked to withdraw the dispute. Pick one route and get any refund offer in writing.
- ✕ Treating a WhatsApp 'refund in 5-10 business days' reply as proof of cancellation, A 2026 Trustpilot reviewer got a generic WhatsApp refund message, but the order still showed as not cancelled and the card hold stayed. Get written email confirmation that the order status has changed.
- ✕ Requesting a return more than 14 days after delivery, The terms say late returns carry no right to a refund. Anything given is at THE LIST's discretion and only as site credit.
- ✕ Returning vintage or pre-owned items because you changed your mind, The refund policy says vintage and pre-owned items can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
- ✕ Returning worn items, items with tags removed, or items without the original box and dust bag, The policy requires items to be unworn, with all tags and security tags in place and in the original branded packaging. Returns that don't meet the policy are refused.
- ✕ Using your own courier, or returning from a different country than the delivery country, The policy makes you pay the return costs if you use anything other than THE LIST's standard return service, or return from another country.
Cancelled The List but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from The List, treat it as not cancelled. Email
customercare@thelist.appreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on The List’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if The List charges again.
How The List will try to keep you
The List may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Offering replacement items from other brands instead of refunding an out-of-stock order (App Store review)”
You say: I don't accept a substitute. The item I paid for isn't available, so please refund the full amount to my original payment method and confirm in writing.
They’ll say: “Offering site credit instead of a cash refund (terms allow credit for late or contested returns)”
You say: My return request was made within 14 days of delivery and the item is in its original condition. Under your own Returns & Refunds Policy, I'm entitled to a refund to my original payment method, not store credit.
They’ll say: “Pushing blame for transit damage or wrong items onto the partner boutique (Trustpilot)”
You say: Your terms say THE LIST's buyer protection covers authenticity and item condition from the moment I place my order, and that I should contact customercare@thelist.app within 14 days. I'm doing that now. Please arrange the return label and refund directly.
They’ll say: “Holding a refund after the item has been returned, citing 'waiting for confirmation' (Trustpilot)”
You say: Your policy says returns are processed within up to 7 calendar days of receipt. The item was delivered back to you on [date]. Please issue the refund to my original payment method by [date + 7 days].
They’ll say: “Refusing a refund because a chargeback is open and asking the customer to withdraw it (Trustpilot)”
You say: Please confirm in writing the exact refund amount and the date it will be issued. I'll update my card issuer once the refund has posted. Until then, the dispute stays open.
They’ll say: “Charging more than the checkout price after a 'technical issue' and shipping anyway (Trustpilot)”
You say: I didn't agree to the higher price. Please cancel or intercept the shipment and refund the full amount charged. My checkout screenshot shows the agreed price.
They’ll say: “Cancelling for an 'inventory error' but only refunding part of the payment (Trustpilot)”
You say: You cancelled my order and your own team has said the refund should be issued in full. Please refund the remaining balance of [amount] for order #[number] immediately.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; The List has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of The List’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If The List’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. The List must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your The List account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in The List’s account settings, email customercare@thelist.app with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling The List
THE LIST is a one-off marketplace, not a subscription, so you cancel an **order**, not a plan. Contact Customer Care at **customercare@thelist.app**, by WhatsApp, or by phone (+1 845 243 2550 in the US, +44 113 320 8820 internationally) **within 2 business days** of ordering. Include your order number and ask for a full refund to your original payment method. THE LIST says it can't cancel once a partner boutique has processed the order. If you're too late, wait for delivery and use the free 14-day return instead. Ask for written email confirmation that the order status has changed to cancelled.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the The List refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The The List contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
