The fastest way
OXXO stores have no subscription to cancel. To close a Spin by OXXO account or stop a recurring direct debit, call 81 3282 8282 (option 5 for disputes), then email atencionaclientes@oxxo.com with subject "Cancelación de cuenta y cargos recurrentes". Direct-debit cancellations take up to 3 business days.
Or let yoink do it for you.

- Phone (fastest): Call +52 81 3282 8282 and say “cancel my service”. Expect a retention pitch, decline it twice and hold firm.
- Email: OXXO doesn’t process cancellations by email. Still worth sending one: it dates your cancellation request in writing, which matters for disputes and refunds.
Timing matters: Direct-debit (domiciliación) cancellations take effect no later than three banking business days after Spin receives the request, so one more debit can still land. Separately, the Garantía de Pago Aplicado only covers bills paid before the due date and no later than 20:00 on that day.
Cancelling a OXXO order by email
OXXO won’t action a cancellation from an email alone, use the fastest channel above for the cancellation itself. This email still earns its place: it puts your cancellation date in writing (your evidence if they keep billing) and it’s where the refund request happens.

What happens to what you’ve already paid
OXXO sells no recurring membership, so there is no subscription refund window, the three charge types are different. (1) Spin by OXXO wallet: recurring direct debits (domiciliación) are cancelled by calling the Spin call centre and stop within three banking business days; unrecognised card charges go through the 'aclaración' (chargeback) process raised in the app or on 81 3282 8282 option 5, and your remaining balance is returned when the account closes. (2) In-store bill/service payments: covered by OXXO's 'Garantía de Pago Aplicado' when the payment doesn't reach the biller, it only applies if you paid before the bill's due date (by 20:00 on that day), you keep the OXXO ticket plus the original bill, and there is a maximum reimbursement cap. (3) OXXO Pay cash vouchers for other merchants: OXXO only collects the cash, refunds are issued by the merchant you bought from, not by OXXO.
“El Cliente podrá solicitar la cancelación del servicio de Domiciliación contactando al Centro de Atención Telefónico de SPIN BY OXXO, el cual será efectivo en un plazo no mayor de tres días hábiles bancarios contados a partir de que SPIN BY OXXO haya recibido la solicitud.”

Does OXXO charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in OXXO’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling OXXO
Based on 5 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Cancelling a Spin by OXXO account by emailing atencionaclientes@oxxo.com, The Spin FAQ routes account closure exclusively through the call centre on 81 3282 8282; email is useful as a paper trail and for escalation, not as the closure channel.
- ✕ Looking for a self-serve cancel page on oxxo.com, oxxo.com serves a CloudFront 403 to most non-Mexican traffic and publishes no /help/cancel or account-cancellation flow, only a contact form and phone line.
- ✕ Asking the cashier in an OXXO store to cancel your wallet account or reverse a payment, Store staff process transactions only; wallet closure, aclaraciones and the Garantía de Pago Aplicado are handled by the call centre / customer-service team.
- ✕ Claiming a payment guarantee without the OXXO ticket and the original bill, The Garantía de Pago Aplicado explicitly requires you to present the OXXO payment receipt together with the original bill, and only covers payments made before the due date.
- ✕ Just blocking or freezing the card in the app and assuming the account is closed, Blocking the card is a loss/theft control; the FAQ states the account stays active while any activity (transaction, balance check, app login) is detected, so closure must be requested explicitly.
- ✕ Asking OXXO to cancel a third-party subscription you funded with OXXO Pay, OXXO Pay (built with Conekta/Digital FEMSA) only collects the cash against a reference; the subscription lives with the merchant, who must cancel and refund it.
Cancelled OXXO but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from OXXO, treat it as not cancelled. Email
atencionaclientes@oxxo.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on OXXO’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if OXXO charges again.
How OXXO will try to keep you
OXXO may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “"Your account stays active as long as we see activity", closure is treated as reversible, so a balance check or app login can leave it open.”
You say: State in writing: "Solicito la cancelación definitiva de mi cuenta y de todos los cargos recurrentes. Por favor confírmenmelo por escrito con número de folio y fecha efectiva." Don't log back in afterwards.
They’ll say: “Phone-only closure funnels you into an IVR (option 5 for aclaraciones, 24/7) where nothing is confirmed in writing.”
You say: Ask for the folio number on the call, then email atencionaclientes@oxxo.com the same day quoting that folio, a documented folio starts the clock on the published resolution deadline (initial reply within 48h, resolution within 15 calendar days).
They’ll say: “Channel ping-pong, a merchant review of the OXXO Pay integration reports 40 minutes on the line with five different agents and no resolution.”
You say: Escalate once, don't repeat yourself: send the case to the Unidad Especializada at une@spinbyoxxo.com.mx (the regulated complaints unit for the Spin IFPE) with your folio, dates and amounts attached.
They’ll say: “Direct-debit cancellations are only "effective within three banking business days", so one more charge can still land after you call.”
You say: Quote the terms back: cancellation takes effect no later than three banking business days from receipt of your request, anything debited after that window is a charge to be refunded, not a timing quirk.
They’ll say: “Payment-guarantee claims get deflected on paperwork ("we need the original receipt") and are capped at a maximum amount.”
You say: Send photos of the OXXO ticket and the original bill in the first email, name the guarantee by its own name ("Garantía de Pago Aplicado"), and state the payment date/time to show it was before the 20:00 due-date cut-off.
They’ll say: “Data still on file after the account is closed, so marketing and profiling continue.”
You say: File an ARCO "Cancelación" request to cmoxxo.arco@oxxo.com in the same thread, the privacy notices name that mailbox for deletion and consent revocation.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; OXXO has ~45 days to defend.
Delete your OXXO account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in OXXO’s account settings, email atencionaclientes@oxxo.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under data-protection law in most jurisdictions. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling OXXO
OXXO's published customer-service mailbox is **atencionaclientes@oxxo.com**, listed on its own contact page alongside the OXXO Escucha line **01 (81) 83 20 20 20** (also written 81 8320 2020), which doubles as a WhatsApp number. Two other addresses are worth knowing: **oxxoescucha@oxxo.com** appears in several OXXO privacy notices as a rights channel, and **cmoxxo.arco@oxxo.com** handles data access/deletion (ARCO) requests. For anything touching the Spin wallet, balances, unrecognised charges, account closure, use the Spin channels instead, since the store chain and the fintech are run by different teams.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the OXXO refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The OXXO contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
