TK Maxx plans you can cancel
- Retail Purchase (no subscription)
TK Maxx is an off-price retailer, there is no recurring subscription. 'Cancellation' refers to cancelling an online order or returning goods.
TK Maxx’s refund policy
TK Maxx gives 28 days from purchase or despatch to return items in original, unused condition with tags and receipt/despatch note for a full refund to the original payment method. Online shoppers also have a separate 14-day statutory right to cancel the contract. Refunds typically take 3-5 working days. Delivery charges and postal return costs are not refundable unless the item is faulty. Pierced jewellery and gift cards are excluded.
“You have 14 calendar days from the day on which you receive your order to notify us that you wish to cancel, and you may do so by contacting our customerservice@tjxeurope.com.”

Does TK Maxx charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in TK Maxx’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide. If you signed up online within the last 14 days, the Consumer Contracts Regulations give you a cooling-off right to walk away, fee-free, for most digital subscriptions.
What doesn’t work for cancelling TK Maxx
Based on 3 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Returning a TK Maxx item to a Homesense store (or vice versa), TK Maxx explicitly states items must be returned to TK Maxx stores in the country of original purchase and cannot be returned to a Homesense store.
- ✕ Returning items without tags or in worn condition, Removed or tampered tags void your right to return under the standard returns policy.
- ✕ Expecting free postal returns, Returns by post are at the customer's own cost and risk, only in-store returns are free.
- ✕ Returning pierced jewellery or gift cards, Both are explicitly excluded from the returns policy.
- ✕ Getting delivery charges refunded on a change-of-mind return, Delivery and return costs are not refundable unless the item is faulty.
Cancelled TK Maxx but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from TK Maxx, treat it as not cancelled. Email
customerservice@tjxeurope.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on TK Maxx’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if TK Maxx charges again.
How TK Maxx will try to keep you
TK Maxx may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Store offers exchange or gift card instead of cash refund on gift receipts”
You say: If you paid by card you are entitled to a refund to that card under the standard policy. A gift receipt only limits you to exchange/gift card, but the original purchaser's receipt unlocks a card refund.
They’ll say: “Inspection delays at the DHL Rugby returns hub”
You say: Keep your proof of postage. If the refund hasn't landed 14 days after delivery confirmation, email customerservice@tjxeurope.com citing your tracking number and the 14-day refund deadline in the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
They’ll say: “Refusal to refund delivery charge”
You say: Under the UK/EU Consumer Contracts Regulations, if you cancel the entire online order within 14 days TK Maxx must refund the standard delivery charge, quote that section of their own policy back to them.
They’ll say: “Refund being offered as store credit for non-receipted returns”
You say: Find the original card statement, order confirmation email or bank transaction, any of these can serve as proof of purchase to unlock a card refund instead of credit.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of TK Maxx’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If TK Maxx’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; TK Maxx has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (European Union)
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. TK Maxx must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your TK Maxx account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in TK Maxx’s account settings, email customerservice@tjxeurope.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under UK GDPR (Article 17, the right to erasure). They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling TK Maxx
TK Maxx's order page says their customer support team can help *track, change, confirm and even cancel* your order, but there is no self-service cancel button. Call **01923 473000** (Mon-Fri 09:00-17:00) or email **customerservice@tjxeurope.com** as soon as possible with your order number. If the order has already been despatched, you'll need to wait, refuse delivery, or return it under the 28-day policy instead.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the TK Maxx refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The TK Maxx contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
