Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi The Edge team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]

What happens to what you’ve already paid
Paddle is the merchant of record for The Edge, so Paddle's Refund Policy covers The Edge subscription charges and any one-off purchases. Paddle treats every transaction as non-refundable by default, but it can refund at its discretion and must honour legal withdrawal rights. EU/EEA and UK consumers can withdraw within 14 days, though the right can be lost if you started using the product after agreeing to get immediate access. Cancelling only stops the next renewal. It does not refund the charge you've already paid, so ask for the refund separately through paddle.net's 'Request refund' option or by emailing help@paddle.com.
“Unless required by applicable law, all Transactions are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.”

Does The Edge charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in The Edge’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling The Edge
Based on 7 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Removing your card or deleting your account in The Edge's own app or website, Paddle holds the subscription and the billing. One Trustpilot reviewer cancelled and removed their card, then was charged for another 3-month term. Cancel in Paddle's portal and keep the confirmation email.
- ✕ Assuming that cancelling gets you a refund, Paddle's policy treats transactions as non-refundable by default, and cancelling only stops future renewals. You have to make a refund request separately.
- ✕ Looking up your order on paddle.net with the wrong email address, Trustpilot reviewers say Paddle 'could not find' their transaction. The lookup needs the exact purchase email, or the receipt link, card last-4 or order ID. People who have lost access to the purchase email report being unable to cancel at all.
- ✕ Calling a Paddle phone number, Paddle publishes no phone line for buyers. Its support runs through the paddle.net assistant and email. The numbers on aggregator sites are unverified, and one of those sites says only about 1% of callers reach a person.
Cancelled The Edge but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from The Edge, treat it as not cancelled. Email
help@paddle.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on The Edge’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if The Edge charges again.
How The Edge will try to keep you
The Edge may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “The chatbot says it 'could not find' your transaction”
You say: Give the exact purchase email, the Paddle order or transaction ID from the receipt, the charge date and amount, and your card's last 4 digits (or PayPal transaction ID). Then ask for the request to go to the human Buyer Support team, who reply by email.
They’ll say: “Refund refused as not meeting 'the eligibility criteria outlined in our refund policy'”
You say: Point out that Paddle's Refund Policy says nothing in it limits your mandatory consumer rights. Cite the 14-day withdrawal right if you're in the EU/UK, or point to a faulty or not-as-described product. Then raise a formal complaint at help@paddle.com, which the Buyer Terms name as the complaints address.
They’ll say: “Only the latest month refunded after unauthorised recurring charges”
You say: List every charge with its date and amount, and ask in writing for all of them to be refunded, not just the most recent. If Paddle refuses, tell them you'll dispute the earlier charges with your card issuer.
They’ll say: “Charged again after you cancelled”
You say: Send the cancellation confirmation email or a timestamped screenshot. Paddle's own FAQ admits buyers sometimes have more than one Paddle subscription, so ask them to confirm every active subscription on your email is cancelled and to refund the charge that came after cancellation.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires The Edge to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; The Edge has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of The Edge’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If The Edge’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. The Edge must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your The Edge account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in The Edge’s account settings, email help@paddle.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling The Edge
The Edge is sold through **Paddle**, the merchant of record, so you cancel with Paddle rather than The Edge. Open the Paddle receipt email and click **Manage subscription**, then **Cancel subscription**. If you can't find the email, go to **paddle.net**, use the assistant or 'Find your purchase', and enter your purchase email or transaction details. You should get a confirmation email, so keep it. If the tool can't find your order, email **help@paddle.com** with your order ID, the charge date and amount, and your card's last 4 digits.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the The Edge refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The The Edge contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
