Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi SamCart team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. I'm giving notice ahead of my next renewal date and expect no further charges from that date. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]

Wait 24 hours. If there's no response, send a polite one-line follow-up referencing the original request.
SamCart plans you can cancel
- Core$79.00/mo
Billed monthly or yearly (yearly advertised at 25% off). Cancel from the Billing page at least 5 days before the renewal date; access continues to the end of the paid cycle.
- Pro$199.00/mo
Same Billing-page cancel flow as Core; each active subscription on the account must be cancelled separately.
- Done For You (custom / Enterprise)
Custom-quoted white-glove tier sold via a booked call; cancellation terms are set in the individual agreement, so request terms in writing from billing@samcart.com.
- CreatorU (education add-on)
Billed separately from the SamCart platform subscription, cancelling one does not cancel the other. Check for a second active subscription on the Billing page.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
For the SamCart platform subscription itself: annual plans paid upfront may be refunded if you ask within 30 days of the original purchase date, monthly plans are stated as not eligible at all, and annual renewals that weren't cancelled before they renewed are explicitly non-refundable. Cancelling mid-cycle never produces a pro-rata refund, you simply keep access until the paid period ends. CreatorU (SamCart's education arm) is a separate charge with its own rule: no cash refunds, only account credits usable on SamCart/CreatorU products, requested within 30 days. If you are a BUYER who was charged by a business that uses SamCart's checkout, none of the above applies, that refund is the seller's decision and is issued from the seller's SamCart dashboard or payment processor, not by SamCart.
“Refunds are not guaranteed and will only be considered if they are requested for SamCart annual subscriptions that are paid upfront and requested within 30 days or less of the original purchase date, depending on the refund policy of the product purchased.”

Does SamCart charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in SamCart’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling SamCart
Based on 7 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Phoning to cancel, SamCart's own contact page offers email and chat only; the +1 737 242 6703 number circulated on complaint directories is framed as a legal/CCPA line and users report reaching voicemail rather than a billing agent.
- ✕ Cancelling on or a day before your renewal date, Terms require the cancellation request to be submitted at least 5 days before the next billing date; anything later and the next charge still processes, and that charge is non-refundable.
- ✕ Assuming cancelling SamCart also kills your CreatorU billing, CreatorU subscriptions bill separately; users report being charged roughly $200 a year later for a SamCart/CreatorU account they believed was closed.
- ✕ Asking for a pro-rata refund on unused time, Terms state plainly that cancelling before the end of a paid billing cycle produces no prorated refund; monthly subscriptions are not refund-eligible at all.
- ✕ Just deleting your card or letting the payment fail, Failed charges push the subscription into dunning/delinquent status rather than cancelling it, and SamCart's own Subscription Saver logic keeps retrying, you also lose the clean written cancellation date you'd need for a chargeback.
- ✕ Emailing SamCart to cancel a product you bought from a seller using SamCart checkout, SamCart is only the checkout layer for that merchant; the subscription is managed by the seller, who must cancel it or enable self-cancellation in their Customer Portal.
Cancelled SamCart but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from SamCart, treat it as not cancelled. Email
billing@samcart.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on SamCart’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if SamCart charges again.
How SamCart will try to keep you
SamCart may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “A reason-for-leaving dropdown gates the cancel button, then SamCart shows discount/incentive screens before the final Cancel Subscription step.”
You say: Pick any reason, decline every offer, and keep clicking through to the final confirmation screen, a discount accepted mid-flow leaves the subscription active. Screenshot the final confirmation.
They’ll say: “Retention Offers are a built-in platform feature surfaced in the cancellation flow, so the discount you're shown is scripted, not a one-off goodwill gesture.”
You say: Treat the offer as a product feature, not a negotiation. If you want money back rather than a discount, cancel first, then email billing@samcart.com separately.
They’ll say: “"Cancel at the end of the billing period" / scheduled-cancellation options keep the subscription live until a future date.”
You say: Note the exact effective date on screen. If it falls on or after your renewal, choose the immediate option instead, a scheduled date after the charge won't stop the charge.
They’ll say: “CreatorU refunds are offered as credits valid only on CreatorU or SamCart products for one year, rather than cash back.”
You say: Decline the credit in writing and restate that you are requesting a refund to the original payment method; keep the credit offer email as evidence for your card issuer.
They’ll say: “Chat/AI-widget first-line support slows escalation to a billing human.”
You say: Skip the widget and email billing@samcart.com directly with your account email, plan, last charge date and amount, and a clear "cancel effective immediately, refund requested" line.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires SamCart to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; SamCart has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of SamCart’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If SamCart’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. SamCart must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your SamCart account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in SamCart’s account settings, email billing@samcart.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling SamCart
Log into your SamCart marketplace, click the account icon (top right) and choose **Billing**. Find the subscription under *Your Subscriptions*, click **Manage**, pick a cancellation reason, then click past the retention offers until the **Cancel Subscription** button appears and confirm. If you have more than one active subscription, cancel each one separately. You can also cancel by emailing **billing@samcart.com** or via the in-app help widget. Whichever route you use, submit it **at least 5 days before your next billing date**, later than that and the next charge still goes through.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the SamCart refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The SamCart contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
