What happens to what you’ve already paid
Roblox's official position is that all subscription payments (Premium and Plus) and Robux purchases are non-refundable. However, Roblox operates a 'permissive refund policy' for unauthorised charges, mainly kids buying without a parent's consent, for card, PayPal and Google Play charges. Apple, Xbox, PlayStation, Meta Quest, Samsung and Amazon purchases must be refunded by the store, not Roblox. Contact Roblox support BEFORE disputing the charge with your bank, or you lose the direct-refund route.
“Refunds, Transfers, and Withdrawals: Subscriptions are non-refundable and non-transferable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to waive any statutory rights that may otherwise entitle you to a refund, such as any right to withdraw or "cooling off" period that may be available after your initial purchase (for example, a 14-day period for those in the European Union).”

Does Roblox charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Roblox’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Roblox
Based on 3 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Cancelling on the Roblox website when you subscribed through the mobile app, Premium Memberships purchased via a mobile app cannot be canceled inside Roblox itself; they must be managed through your device's app store (Apple, Google Play).
- ✕ Requesting a pro-rata refund for the unused part of a paid month, Roblox terms explicitly waive any refund and cooling-off rights to the maximum extent permitted by law; benefits simply continue until the end of the paid period.
- ✕ Pausing the subscription instead of cancelling, Roblox does not offer a pause option, only cancellation, which stops renewal at the end of the current billing cycle.
- ✕ Disputing the charge with your bank before contacting Roblox, Once disputed, Roblox will be unable to provide a direct or immediate refund due to the payment provider's dispute process, and the account can be deleted.
- ✕ Asking Roblox to refund an Apple/Xbox/PlayStation/Amazon charge, These third-party payment providers require refunds to go through their own support services; Roblox cannot process them.
- ✕ Refunding Robux you have already spent on virtual items, Robux and Virtual Content transactions are treated as final once credited/spent; refunds are only considered for unauthorized purchases or technical errors.
Cancelled Roblox but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Roblox, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support-en@roblox.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Roblox’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Roblox charges again.
How Roblox will try to keep you
Roblox may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Free 1-month trial of Roblox Plus stacked on top of an existing Premium subscription to keep you paying”
You say: Decline the trial or cancel Premium first, the trial converts silently once the month ends and Roblox Plus renews at $4.99/month.
They’ll say: “Google Play offering a 'pause subscription' option instead of cancellation, plus a feedback form that must be completed”
You say: Skip 'pause', it only defers the charge. Select 'cancel', submit any dummy feedback answer, and confirm to fully stop billing.
They’ll say: “Warning that if you cancel Premium you can never resubscribe (post-April 2026)”
You say: This is factually true but not a reason to keep paying, Roblox Plus replaces Premium for $4.99 with different perks; you're not locked out of the platform, only the legacy plan.
They’ll say: “Framing 'you keep your Robux stipend until renewal' as a benefit to delay cancelling”
You say: Cancel immediately after collecting the current month's Robux, benefits continue to end of the paid period regardless, so waiting only risks forgetting.
They’ll say: “Directing unauthorised-charge complaints to a generic support form instead of the billing team”
You say: Email info@roblox.com and support-en@roblox.com in the same thread, quote 'permissive refund policy for unauthorized purchases', and list the Roblox username, transaction ID and last-4 of the card BEFORE opening a chargeback.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires Roblox to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Roblox has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Roblox’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Roblox’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Roblox must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Roblox account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Roblox’s account settings, email support-en@roblox.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
