The fastest way

To cancel Redis Cloud, sign in to the Redis Cloud Console as Account Owner, delete every database in the subscription, then open the subscription Overview tab and click Delete subscription. For refunds (rare, charges are non-refundable) email support via the Redis Support Portal with subject 'Cancellation + refund request, [account email]'. Confirmation is usually same business day.

Or let yoink do it for you.

The 4-step cancellation

  1. Email the verified address

legal@redis.com, yoink-verified working email for Redis (confirmed by tracked cancellations).

  2. Use a precise subject

Subject: Cancellation Request, [your account email]

  3. Send this template

    Hi Redis team,

I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email].

Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through.

Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken.

If your policy allows it, I'd also appreciate a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of the current period.

    Best,
    [your name]
  4. Wait for confirmation

Wait 24 hours. If there's no response, send a polite one-line follow-up referencing the original request.

Redis plans you can cancel

Redis’s refund policy

Redis Cloud charges are non-refundable by default, the Cloud Agreement states payments are non-cancelable and non-refundable except where Redis itself breaches the services warranty, in which case you can get a pro-rated refund of prepaid fees for the remainder of the Subscription. For mid-cycle cancellations the docs say 'Generally, charges are non-refundable' and ask you to contact Support with detail about the reasons. Rare exceptions (system error, immediate accidental start) are handled case-by-case. AWS/GCP Marketplace customers must request refunds via the seller-support team in the marketplace.

All payment obligations are non-cancelable and all payments are non-refundable, except as expressly stated in this Agreement.

Does Redis charge a cancellation fee?

We found no cancellation fee in Redis’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.

What doesn’t work for cancelling Redis

Based on 6 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.

Cancelled Redis but still being charged?

Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:

If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Redis charges again.

How Redis will try to keep you

Redis may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.

Your rights when cancelling

The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.

Worldwide

  • Card-issuer chargeback
Your bank can reverse the charge.

Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Redis has ~45 days to defend.

Delete your Redis account (not just cancel)

Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.

If there’s no delete option in Redis’s account settings, email legal@redis.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.

Common questions about cancelling Redis

Sign in to the Redis Cloud Console as the **Account Owner**, delete every database under the subscription (Configuration > Danger Zone > Delete Database), then open the subscription, go to the **Overview** tab and click **Delete subscription**. Confirm both prompts. Cancellation is immediate but does not refund the current cycle. Only the Account Owner can perform this, team members and admins are blocked. Marketplace subscriptions (AWS/GCP) must be cancelled inside the cloud provider's marketplace console instead.

Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Redis refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Redis contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
