The fastest way
Paymob is a payment gateway, not a consumer subscription. Merchants close accounts via the 'Request Account Deletion' ticket link on paymob.com/en/policy or by emailing support@paymob.com (subject: 'Account closure request, Merchant ID [X]'); withdraw your balance first. Shoppers wanting refunds must ask the merchant. Confirmation arrives by email; timing unpublished.
Or let yoink do it for you.
30 seconds. AI emails Paymob, handles retention, chases the refund. You approve once, then sleep.

- Phone: Call 19079 and say “cancel my service”. Expect a retention pitch, decline it twice and hold firm.
- Online (fastest): Direct cancel flow: paymob.com/en/policy
- Email: Email
support@paymob.comwith the template below, the route that creates a paper trail and carries the refund ask.
Timing matters: Merchants: withdraw your settled balance and resolve pending refunds and chargebacks before requesting closure, because Paymob takes refunds out of your balance. UAE contracts may carry a monthly account-management fee, so close before the next billing cycle and get written confirmation that no further fees will be charged.

Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi Paymob team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. I'm exercising my statutory right under the consumer-protection law of my jurisdiction to cancel by written notice. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. If your policy allows it, I'd also appreciate a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of the current period. Best, [your name]

Paymob plans you can cancel
- Standard (Egypt)EGP 0.00/mo
Paymob's Egypt pricing page says there are no monthly or subscription fees. You only pay 2.75% + 3 EGP on each transaction, so once you stop processing payments you stop paying fees. To close the account, request deletion through the ticket link on paymob.com/en/policy or email support@paymob.com.
- Enterprise (custom pricing)
Pricing and terms are set in a signed contract with sales. Exit terms depend on that contract, so check it for notice periods before you request closure.
- UAE Merchant (online + POS)AED 60.00/mo
A third-party comparison site lists a 60 AED monthly account management fee, an 800 AED one-off terminal fee, an optional 210 AED/month for daily online settlement, and a 75 AED chargeback fee. Card rates run from 1.9% to 3%. Trustpilot reviewers say promised fee waivers (for example, a 99 AED monthly fee) were not honoured, so get every waiver in writing before you leave. UAE support: support.ae@paymob.com.
- Standard (Saudi Arabia)
Paymob's Saudi pricing page lists 2.9% + 1 SAR per transaction. KSA support: support.sa@paymob.com.
- Standard (Oman)
Paymob's Oman pricing page lists 2.9% + 1 OMR per transaction. Oman support: support.om@paymob.com.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
If you're a shopper who paid a business through Paymob's checkout, payment link or POS, the business decides whether you get a refund, not Paymob. Ask the merchant first and quote the Paymob transaction reference, then dispute the charge with your card issuer if they refuse. If you're a merchant, Paymob charges per transaction with no subscription fee in Egypt, and has published no refund window for its own fees. Contact support@paymob.com about overcharged commission or settlement funds that are being held. Merchant-initiated refunds to customers go through the dashboard or API, and they fail if your Paymob balance is too low.
“Refunds and returns are governed exclusively by the Merchant's own refund and returns policy. Paymob's role is limited to facilitating the payment Transaction; Paymob does not control, determine, or override Merchant refund policies.”

Does Paymob charge a cancellation fee?
Paymob’s terms mention conditions worth checking before you cancel, see the plan notes and policy quote above for the specifics we found. In general: rolling monthly plans end at the period you’ve already paid for with nothing extra to pay, while minimum-term or contract plans can carry an early-exit charge until the term ends.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Paymob
Based on 5 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Asking Paymob to refund a purchase you made from a merchant, Paymob's terms say merchant refund policies apply exclusively and that Paymob does not override them. A Paymob ticket alone won't get your money back, so go to the merchant and then your card issuer.
- ✕ Chasing your account manager by phone or WhatsApp, Trustpilot merchants say account managers ignored calls and WhatsApp messages while funds were held for over a month. A written email to support@paymob.com that creates a ticket leaves a better paper trail.
- ✕ Relying on repeated generic support replies, Google Play and Trustpilot reviewers describe week-long loops of 'we are working on your case' and AI-sounding replies that miss the point. Without a ticket number and a deadline, nothing moves.
- ✕ Issuing a customer refund from the dashboard with a low balance, Paymob's developer FAQ names insufficient account balance as a common cause of failed refunds. Top up or wait for settlement before you retry.
- ✕ Using contacts from paymobglobal.com or paymob.ru, These sites belong to an unrelated mobile-terminal company with Russian and Myanmar contact details. They can't act on Paymob (MENA-P) accounts.
Cancelled Paymob but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Paymob, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@paymob.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Paymob’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- You're inside a minimum term. Some Paymob plans keep charging until a fixed term ends even after you cancel, check the plan notes above.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Paymob charges again.
How Paymob will try to keep you
Paymob may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Holding settlement funds for weeks with no explanation (reported on Google Play and on Trustpilot for paymob.ae)”
You say: Email support@paymob.com, or the support inbox for your country, with each transaction ID, the date the customer was debited and the amount owed. Ask for a written settlement date within 5 business days. Paymob's own Click terms list the central bank consumer-protection units (CBE, CBUAE/Sanadak, SAMA, CBO) as complaint routes, so say you'll complain to the relevant one if the deadline passes.
They’ll say: “Charging a higher commission than the rate agreed in writing (Trustpilot: 1.95% charged instead of a promised 1.45%, and 2.2% instead of 1.5%)”
You say: Forward the written rate agreement, list the overcharged transactions with the amount charged and the amount agreed, and ask for the difference back before the account closes. Ask them to confirm in writing that no further fees will be taken after closure.
They’ll say: “Promising a fee waiver verbally or by email, then billing anyway (Trustpilot: a 99 AED monthly fee charged after staff said it was waived)”
You say: Quote the email in which the waiver was promised, ask for a refund of every monthly fee charged since, and request written confirmation that the account is closed so no further monthly fees can be billed.
They’ll say: “Passing emails between staff without resolving anything (Trustpilot for paymob.pk)”
You say: Reply on the same thread every time, cite the ticket number and give a firm deadline. One persistent thread is harder to drop than new emails to different people.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Paymob has ~45 days to defend.
Delete your Paymob account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Paymob’s account settings, email support@paymob.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under data-protection law in most jurisdictions. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Paymob
Paymob's policy page (paymob.com/en/policy) has a **Request Account Deletion** link that opens a support ticket. After that, Paymob's team contacts you and sends an email confirmation once the request is processed. You can also email **support@paymob.com** with your merchant ID and ask for closure. Before you submit, withdraw any remaining balance and settle pending refunds or chargebacks. Funds left in the account make closure messy and are a common reason merchants end up chasing support for weeks.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Paymob refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Paymob contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
