The fastest way
Cancel OpusClip yourself on the web. Log in at clip.opus.pro, open the Subscription page (crown icon in the left sidebar), click Cancel plan, turn down the retention offer and confirm. If you subscribed on iOS, cancel in Apple settings instead. Emailing won't cancel it. For refunds, email contact@opus.pro with the subject "Refund request, [account email]". You get a confirmation email.
Or let yoink do it for you.
30 seconds. AI emails OpusClip, handles retention, chases the refund. You approve once, then sleep.
Get yoink (App Store) →The email that backs it up
OpusClip won’t action a cancellation from an email alone, use the fastest channel above for the cancellation itself. This email still earns its place: it puts your cancellation date in writing (your evidence if they keep billing) and it’s where the refund request happens.

Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi OpusClip team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]
Wait for confirmation
Wait 24 hours. If there's no response, send a polite one-line follow-up referencing the original request.
OpusClip plans you can cancel
- Free$0.00/mo
Free-forever plan with 60 credits per month. Clips carry a watermark and can't be exported after 3 days. This is the plan your account drops to when you cancel or when the trial ends.
- Starter$15.00/mo
Monthly billing only, 150 credits per month. Cancel from the Subscription page. Access runs to the end of the current billing cycle. Monthly credits expire 60 days after they're granted, even if you cancel.
- Pro$29.00/mo
$29/mo billed monthly, or $174/yr (about $14.50/mo) per pack. 300 credits per month per pack. Yearly plans get all 12 months of credits upfront, and they expire after 12 months. You can't downgrade Pro Yearly straight to Starter: cancel first, then resubscribe to Starter. If you bought through the iOS App Store, Apple handles cancelling and refunds.
- Business
Custom pricing under a Master Service Agreement (MSA), with a dedicated Slack support channel. Cancellation terms are probably set in the contract.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
Web subscription charges (Starter monthly, Pro monthly or yearly): the terms say no refunds and no prorating. Cancelling only stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the paid period ends. In practice, many reviewers say support refunded forgotten renewals, duplicate accounts and charges taken after they cancelled, though some first got an AI bot or a 'policy can't change' answer. Project credits are a separate thing: an in-app project refund returns credits (not money) if no clip was downloaded, and deleting a project does not refund credits. iOS App Store subscriptions are refunded by Apple, not OpusClip.
“Paid Services cannot be terminated before the end of the period for which you have already paid, and except as expressly provided in this agreement, OPUSCLIP will not refund any fees that you have already paid.”

Does OpusClip charge a cancellation fee?
OpusClip’s terms mention conditions worth checking before you cancel, see the plan notes and policy quote above for the specifics we found. In general: rolling monthly plans end at the period you’ve already paid for with nothing extra to pay, while minimum-term or contract plans can carry an early-exit charge until the term ends.
What doesn’t work for cancelling OpusClip
Based on 8 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Emailing support to cancel for you, Reviewers say support replies that you have to cancel yourself in the dashboard. One user sent 16 emails over a week and was still being billed. Guides confirm you can't cancel by email.
- ✕ Cancelling an iOS App Store subscription in the OpusClip web app, OpusClip's help center says Apple handles everything for iOS purchases, including cancellations and refunds. You have to cancel in Apple subscription settings.
- ✕ Deleting a project to get credits back, Deleting a project does not refund its credits. Only the separate project refund option returns credits, and only before any clip from it is downloaded.
- ✕ Expecting a prorated refund after cancelling mid-cycle, The terms say you won't get a prorated refund for any part of the current period. Cancelling only stops future renewals.
- ✕ Looking for the subscription under the wrong email address, The billing email and login email can be different. Users have been charged for accounts they couldn't find, where logging in only showed 'Sign Up'. Check every email you might have used.
Cancelled OpusClip but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from OpusClip, treat it as not cancelled. Email
contact@opus.proreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on OpusClip’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- You're inside a minimum term. Some OpusClip plans keep charging until a fixed term ends even after you cancel, check the plan notes above.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if OpusClip charges again.
How OpusClip will try to keep you
OpusClip may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “A cancel-reason survey, then a 'Wait, don't go!' pop-up that sometimes offers a discount or extra time”
You say: Pick any reason, then click 'Cancel anyway'. Only take the offer if you'd actually keep using it. Wait for the confirmation screen and email before you close the tab.
They’ll say: “A warning that your projects become inaccessible 3 days after you cancel”
You say: Download or bulk-export the clips you want to keep before you click Cancel. The warning is real, but it's not a reason to keep paying.
They’ll say: “Suggesting a downgrade to the Free plan instead of cancelling”
You say: Free still keeps the account but stops billing. It's fine if you want the 60 free monthly credits. If not, cancel outright.
They’ll say: “An AI support bot answers first and says your request is 'passed to a teammate for manual review'”
You say: Reply in writing with your account email, the charge date, amount and invoice number, and ask clearly for a refund to your original payment method. Keep every reply as a paper trail.
They’ll say: “First reply says the no-refund policy can't be changed”
You say: Stay polite and keep going. Reviewers report refunds after pushing back, including one user who got up to 3 months refunded. Say you didn't use the period and ask for a goodwill exception.
They’ll say: “Asking for a signed authorization form before acting on a billing dispute”
You say: Send the form if they ask, but note the date of your first cancel request so later charges are clearly disputed. If it stalls, ask your card issuer about a chargeback.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires OpusClip to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; OpusClip has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of OpusClip’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If OpusClip’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. OpusClip must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your OpusClip account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in OpusClip’s account settings, email contact@opus.pro with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling OpusClip
Log in at **clip.opus.pro**, open the left sidebar (it's collapsed by default) and click the **crown icon** to reach your Subscription page. On the **Billing and Payment** card, click **Cancel plan**, give a reason, turn down the retention offer with **Cancel anyway**, and confirm. The change applies at the end of your billing cycle, and you get a confirmation email. If you subscribed through the iOS App Store, cancel in Apple subscription settings, because OpusClip can't cancel App Store purchases. Emailing support will not cancel your plan.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the OpusClip refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The OpusClip contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
