The fastest way
Maxima has no paid subscription. To cancel, you leave its free AČIŪ loyalty programme. Email klientai@maxima.lt with the subject 'Request to end AČIŪ programme participation, card no. XXXX', or call +370 800 200 50 (free, 8 to 22 daily). Deleting the app does not close your account. Maxima doesn't publish how long confirmation takes.
Or let yoink do it for you.

- Phone: Call +370 800 200 50 and say “cancel my service”. Expect a retention pitch, decline it twice and hold firm.
- Email (fastest): Email
klientai@maxima.ltwith the template below, the route that creates a paper trail and carries the refund ask.
Timing matters: No billing cycle. The AČIŪ account closes on its own after 14 months in a row without use, or 3 months after you block the card without unblocking it. For product returns, the non-food return window is 14 calendar days from purchase.

Maxima plans you can cancel
- AČIŪ loyalty card / MAXIMA app account€0.00/mo
Free loyalty programme. Under the programme rules, your participation ends when you ask for it to end. You can ask by email (klientai@maxima.lt), through the www.maxima.lt/pagalba form, or on the free infoline. It also ends on its own if you block your card and don't unblock it within 3 months, or if you don't use the card or account for 14 months in a row.
- AČIŪ VERSLUI (business prepaid discount card)
Only for legal entities. You get it by signing a prepaid payment-card contract. If the card is lost, Maxima says to block it through korteles@maxima.lt as the contract describes. The sources don't publish a separate way to close it.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
Unused non-food items in good condition can be returned or exchanged within 14 calendar days of purchase. Take them back to the Maxima store where you bought them, with the receipt. Faulty products, including food, get a full refund once store staff confirm the fault. Maxima says you need the receipt or other proof of purchase, and some quality refunds are paid onto your AČIŪ card. Bedding and similar hygiene items can't be returned once opened. The AČIŪ loyalty programme is free, so there's no subscription charge to refund.
“Remdamasis Lietuvos Respublikos teisės aktais, tinkamos kokybės ne maisto prekes pirkėjas gali grąžinti arba pasikeisti per 14 kalendorinių dienų nuo prekių įsigijimo dienos.”

Does Maxima charge a cancellation fee?
Maxima’s terms mention conditions worth checking before you cancel, see the plan notes and policy quote above for the specifics we found. In general: rolling monthly plans end at the period you’ve already paid for with nothing extra to pay, while minimum-term or contract plans can carry an early-exit charge until the term ends. If you signed up online within the last 14 days, the EU Consumer Rights Directive gives you a cooling-off right to walk away, fee-free, for most digital subscriptions.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Maxima
Based on 3 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Deleting or uninstalling the MAXIMA app, Maxima's app rules say deleting the app does not close your AČIŪ account or block your card. Your loyalty data keeps being processed until you ask for your participation to end.
- ✕ Contacting maxima.com about a Maxima LT purchase, maxima.com is a different company that sells professional kitchen equipment and has its own 100-day return policy. The Lithuanian supermarket chain is MAXIMA LT, UAB at maxima.lt.
- ✕ Returning opened bedding or pillows (e.g. Dormeo) because you don't like them, In a published reply to a complaint, Maxima said bedding is on the list of goods that can't be returned. It only makes an exception within 14 days if the item is unopened and unused.
- ✕ Returning a non-food item without a receipt, Maxima's refund process asks for the receipt or other proof of purchase, and shoppers report it is needed. A bank statement may work as proof, but bring the receipt if you can.
- ✕ Returning unwanted (not faulty) food, Maxima's 14-day change-of-mind return covers non-food goods only. Food is refunded only if it turns out to be faulty.
Cancelled Maxima but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Maxima, treat it as not cancelled. Email
klientai@maxima.ltreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Maxima’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- You're inside a minimum term. Some Maxima plans keep charging until a fixed term ends even after you cancel, check the plan notes above.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Maxima charges again.
How Maxima will try to keep you
Maxima may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “The cashier refuses a return, saying store instructions don't allow it”
You say: In its own written replies, Maxima accepts returns within 14 days if the item is unopened and unused. Ask for the Informacijos skyrius (information desk), mention the 14-calendar-day rule on maxima.lt/pagalba, and put the refusal in writing to klientai@maxima.lt.
They’ll say: “A refund for a faulty product goes onto your AČIŪ card instead of your original payment method”
You say: Maxima says it judges these cases one by one and may credit the AČIŪ card. If you want the money back on your bank card or in cash, say so in writing, especially if you're about to leave the programme.
They’ll say: “An unused loyalty balance disappears when you leave the programme”
You say: MAXIMOS pinigai belong to the card, and the card is tied to your account. Spend the balance, or move it to another card, before you ask Maxima to end your participation.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Maxima must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Maxima has ~45 days to defend.
Delete your Maxima account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Maxima’s account settings, email klientai@maxima.lt with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under GDPR Article 17, the right to erasure. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Maxima
Maxima has no self-serve delete button. Under the AČIŪ programme rules, your participation ends **when you ask for it to end**. Email **klientai@maxima.lt**, use the form at maxima.lt/pagalba, or call the free infoline **+370 800 200 50** (8 to 22, seven days a week). Give your card number and ask for your participation to end and your account to be closed. To have your personal data erased as well, you can write to the data protection officer at dpo@maxima.lt.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Maxima refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Maxima contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
