- Phone: Call +44 1727 222 323 and say “cancel my service”. Expect a retention pitch, decline it twice and hold firm.
- Post: Optional: during the 14-day cooling-off period you can send the model cancellation form at the end of the Membership Terms page instead of emailing.. Send it tracked so you can prove delivery.
- Email (fastest): Email
talk@everymangroup.comwith the template below, the route that creates a paper trail and carries the refund ask.
Timing matters: A membership can only be cancelled with a refund within 14 days of the start date. After that, the 12-month term (including monthly instalments) runs to the end. Turn off auto-renew in the Payments Hub before expiry; Everyman emails you one month before renewal. Ticket exchanges close 24 hours before the screening, and member-ticket swaps close 90 minutes before.

Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi Everyman Cinemas team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, I'm entitled to cancel this contract by notice through the same channel it was formed in. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]

Everyman Cinemas plans you can cancel
- Everyman£95.00/yr
Paid upfront only, with no monthly option. It's a 12-month term. If you paid upfront and auto-renew is off, it ends on its own after 12 months. If auto-renew is on, Everyman emails you one month before expiry with instructions to opt out.
- Everyicon£31.00/mo
The £31/month option is a 12-month instalment plan, not a rolling monthly plan. You have to keep the Direct Debit running for the whole term. You can only downgrade at renewal, never mid-year.
- Everywhere£59.00/mo
A 12-month term, paid upfront or by monthly Direct Debit instalments. The monthly plan runs for the full 12 months. Everyman can't change your Direct Debit collection date.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
Cinema tickets (one-off bookings) can't be refunded, but you can exchange them, subject to availability, up to 24 hours before the film starts using the Help button's "Booking Exchange" or the contact form. The original booking is then refunded within 2-5 days. If Everyman cancels or changes a screening, or makes a booking error, you get a full refund including the Card Booking Fee. Paid memberships (Everyman, Everyicon, Everywhere) can be cancelled within 14 days of the start date for a refund minus any tickets used. After that, the 12-month term runs to the end with no pro-rata refund, and unused member tickets aren't refunded. Gift memberships are non-refundable.
“We operate a no refund policy; however, subject to availability, you can request to exchange tickets up to 24 hours prior to the film start time.”

Does Everyman Cinemas charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Everyman Cinemas’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide. If you signed up online within the last 14 days, the Consumer Contracts Regulations give you a cooling-off right to walk away, fee-free, for most digital subscriptions.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Everyman Cinemas
Based on 5 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Asking for a pro-rata refund after the 14-day cooling-off period, The membership FAQ says memberships over 15 days old continue until the end of the 12-month agreement, and that 'We do not offer pro-rata refunds for early cancellations.'
- ✕ Cancelling the Direct Debit at your bank to end a monthly membership early, The membership terms require you to keep the Direct Debit running for the whole term. If a payment is missed, Everyman can suspend the membership and deactivate the card, and the full membership fee for the term is still owed.
- ✕ Requesting a ticket exchange or refund less than 24 hours before the screening, The contact page says exchanges or refunds can't be processed within 24 hours of the screening, and the terms say refunds aren't given for cancellations.
- ✕ Phoning your local Everyman venue, Everyman's help center says venues don't have direct phone lines. All queries go through the central Guest Services team.
- ✕ Downgrading to a cheaper tier mid-year to cut costs, Downgrades are only allowed at renewal. The FAQ says there are no mid-year downgrades or pro-rata refunds.
- ✕ Claiming a refund after arriving late to a film, The terms say late arrivals won't be admitted and won't be refunded.
- ✕ Using distance-selling cancellation rights on advance ticket purchases, The terms say statutory distance-selling cancellation rights don't apply to advance ticket sales. This exclusion doesn't cover memberships, which have a stated 14-day cooling-off period.
Cancelled Everyman Cinemas but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Everyman Cinemas, treat it as not cancelled. Email
talk@everymangroup.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Everyman Cinemas’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Everyman Cinemas charges again.
How Everyman Cinemas will try to keep you
Everyman Cinemas may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “12-month lock-in: 'We do not offer pro-rata refunds for early cancellations' (membership FAQ)”
You say: If you're within 14 days of your start date, cite the cooling-off period in clause 7 of the Membership Terms. Send your cancellation in writing to talk@everymangroup.com, or use the model cancellation form at the bottom of the membership terms page. Include your membership number and ask for written confirmation. If you're past 14 days, turn off auto-renew in the Payments Hub now so the membership doesn't roll into a second year.
They’ll say: “Early-renewal bonus offers that restart the membership from the renewal date (Trustpilot reports losing the remaining months of the current membership)”
You say: Don't renew early just for a bonus ticket. Reviewers say Everyman starts the new 12 months on the day you renew, not when your current membership ends, so you lose the time you'd already paid for. Wait until close to expiry, or ask in writing for the new term to start at your current expiry date.
They’ll say: “Slow or no reply from customer service (Trustpilot: 'Customer Service do not reply', repeated emails and long phone holds)”
You say: Send your request to talk@everymangroup.com with your membership or booking reference in the subject line, and keep the sent email with its timestamp. If there's no reply within 5 working days, call Guest Services on +44 1727 222 323 (Mon-Sat 10am-5:30pm UK time), quote the date of your email, and ask for a case reference.
They’ll say: “Blanket 'no refund policy' applied even when Everyman is at fault”
You say: Quote clause 6.4 of the Terms. If Everyman can't show the advertised programme, it owes a full refund of the tickets and the Card Booking Fee. Clause 6.6.1 adds that the Card Booking Fee is refunded when the booking or card-processing error was Everyman's fault. Cancelled member tickets should be credited back to your account.
They’ll say: “Cooling-off refunds reduced for 'tickets used during this period'”
You say: Ask for an itemised breakdown of the deduction: which tickets were used and at what price. Check that only tickets you actually used were charged and that the remaining fee is refunded promptly.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Everyman Cinemas’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Everyman Cinemas’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Everyman Cinemas has ~45 days to defend.
Delete your Everyman Cinemas account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Everyman Cinemas’s account settings, email talk@everymangroup.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under UK GDPR (Article 17, the right to erasure). They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
