The fastest way

Cancel Fortnite Crew yourself at epicgames.com/account/subscriptions, Subscriptions → cog icon → Cancel Subscription. Benefits run to your renewal date and the current month isn't refunded. Epic publishes no support email, so billing disputes go through a ticket at epicgames.com/help; replies typically take 3 to 7 business days.

Or let yoink do it for you.

30 seconds. AI emails Epic Games, handles retention, chases the refund. You approve once, then sleep.

Every way to cancel Epic Games

Timing matters: Cancel before your monthly renewal date, Crew bills on the same date each month, cancelling turns off future renewals only and the current period is neither refunded nor pro-rated. Subscriptions bought on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo or a mobile app store must be cancelled in that platform's account settings; cancelling on epicgames.com will not stop them.

The email that backs it up

Epic Games won’t action a cancellation from an email alone, use the fastest channel above for the cancellation itself. This email still earns its place: it puts your cancellation date in writing (your evidence if they keep billing) and it’s where the refund request happens.

  1. Email the verified address

help@epicgames.com, yoink-verified working email for Epic Games (confirmed by tracked cancellations).

  2. Use a precise subject

Subject: Cancellation Request, [your account email]

  3. Send this template

    Hi Epic Games team,

I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email].

Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through.

Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken.

    Best,
    [your name]
  4. Wait for confirmation

Wait 24 hours. If there's no response, send a polite one-line follow-up referencing the original request.

Epic Games plans you can cancel

What happens to what you’ve already paid

Three different rules apply depending on what you were charged for. Epic Games Store game and app purchases (PC/Mac) are refundable within 14 days if you have under 2 hours of runtime and the item is marked 'refundable' or 'self-refundable', self-refundable ones you can process yourself under Account → Transactions; mobile store purchases only get a 2-hour window. Fortnite Crew subscription charges are different: Epic's help centre says Crew subscriptions cannot be refunded, so cancelling stops the next renewal but does not refund the month you're in and there is no pro-rata. Fortnite Item Shop purchases made with V-Bucks are separate again, use Cancel Purchase within 24 hours if you haven't equipped the item, or spend one of your three Return Tickets on anything bought in the last 30 days; Passes, Pass levels, Llamas and gifted items are excluded. Anything bought through PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo has to be refunded by that platform, not Epic.

PC and Mac products are eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase (or 14 days after release for pre-purchases) if they are marked as “refundable” or “self-refundable”. However, you must have less than 2 hours of runtime on record.

Does Epic Games charge a cancellation fee?

We found no cancellation fee in Epic Games’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.

What doesn’t work for cancelling Epic Games

Based on 6 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.

Cancelled Epic Games but still being charged?

Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:

If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Epic Games charges again.

How Epic Games will try to keep you

Epic Games may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.

Your rights when cancelling

The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.

United States

  • FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)
Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.

The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires Epic Games to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.

  • California ARL (auto-renewal law)
    Renewal must be cancellable online.

California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.

Worldwide

  • Card-issuer chargeback
Your bank can reverse the charge.

Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Epic Games has ~45 days to defend.

Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)

United Kingdom

  • Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
    14-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.

You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Epic Games’s own policy.

  • Consumer Rights Act 2015
    Services must be as described.

If Epic Games’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.

European Union

  • Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU
14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.

EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Epic Games must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.

Delete your Epic Games account (not just cancel)

Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.

If there’s no delete option in Epic Games’s account settings, email help@epicgames.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.

Common questions about cancelling Epic Games

It depends where you subscribed, because Epic can only cancel what Epic billed. **Bought on PC, the web or Android:** sign in at `epicgames.com/account`, choose **Subscriptions**, click the cog icon at the top right of the Fortnite Crew entry, select **Cancel Subscription** and follow the prompts. **In-game:** open the Passes tab → Manage Subscription → Cancellation Info → Cancel Subscription. **Console:** cancel through PlayStation (Subscription Management → Turn Off Auto-Renew), Microsoft (`account.microsoft.com/services` → Turn off recurring billing) or Nintendo. Not sure which? Check your bank statement or the Subscriptions tab on your Epic account.

Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Epic Games refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Epic Games contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
