The fastest way
ChatUp, live video chat bills through the app stores, not chatup.ai (that domain is parked for sale). Cancel at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions (or Play Store > Subscriptions) at least 24 hours before renewal. No published support email or phone. For refunds use reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple typically decides in 24 to 48 hours.
Or let yoink do it for you.
30 seconds. AI emails ChatUp, handles retention, chases the refund. You approve once, then sleep.

- Online (fastest): Direct cancel flow: apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
- Email: ChatUp doesn’t process cancellations by email. Still worth sending one: it dates your cancellation request in writing, which matters for disputes and refunds.
Timing matters: Store-billed: cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends or the next period is charged; access continues until the paid period expires.
Cancelling a ChatUp order by email
ChatUp won’t action a cancellation from an email alone, use the fastest channel above for the cancellation itself. This email still earns its place: it puts your cancellation date in writing (your evidence if they keep billing) and it’s where the refund request happens.
Email the verified address

Hi ChatUp team, I'd like to cancel my recent ChatUp order (reference [order number], placed on [date]) under the account [your account email]. Please confirm the cancellation by reply and process the refund to my original payment method. Best, [your name]

Wait 24 hours. If there's no response, send a polite one-line follow-up referencing the original request.
Does ChatUp charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in ChatUp’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling ChatUp
Based on 3 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Emailing anything @chatup.ai, chatup.ai is not the app's website, it is a parked domain listed for sale on Spaceship.com for $49,888, so mail to that domain has no support mailbox behind it.
- ✕ Deleting the app from your phone, Uninstalling never cancels a store-billed subscription; the App Store / Play Store keeps renewing until the subscription itself is cancelled.
- ✕ Deleting your ChatUp account in-app, An in-app account deletion removes the profile but does not touch the Apple or Google billing agreement, which lives outside the app.
- ✕ Asking a host or moderator inside a video chat to refund your coins, Hosts and in-chat moderators have no billing access; comparable coin-based video-chat apps deduct coins per message and per video minute and users report no working unsubscribe or refund route from inside the app.
- ✕ Looking for a billing or subscription page on the developer's website, MOBILIKE TECHNOLOGY US LIMITED publishes only a corporate one-pager and Google Sites legal pages, no account portal, no self-serve cancel flow, no listed phone number.
Cancelled ChatUp but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from ChatUp, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@chatup.aireferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on ChatUp’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if ChatUp charges again.
How ChatUp will try to keep you
ChatUp may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Coins are burnt per message and per minute of video, so any refund request is answered with 'the balance was already consumed'.”
You say: State the charge date, amount and store order ID, and say you are disputing the purchase itself, not the consumption. If the top-up was unauthorised, made by a minor, or the service was not as described in the listing, ask the store to refund the order and say you will escalate to your card issuer if refused.
They’ll say: “No cancel button and no billing screen inside the app, which pushes users into thinking they must keep paying or just uninstall.”
You say: You never need the app's permission. Cancel at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions or Play Store > Payments & subscriptions, screenshot the confirmation, and treat that screenshot as proof of the cancellation date.
They’ll say: “No published support email or phone number, so there is no channel to create a paper trail with the merchant.”
You say: Use the store's own refund form as your written record, then send a single dated dispute to your bank or card issuer quoting the merchant descriptor. A merchant with no reachable email cannot contest a documented chargeback narrative.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires ChatUp to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; ChatUp has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of ChatUp’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If ChatUp’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. ChatUp must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your ChatUp account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in ChatUp’s account settings, email support@chatup.ai with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling ChatUp
You cancel it in the store that bills you, not in the app. **iPhone:** open **Settings → your name → Subscriptions**, or go straight to `https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions`, tap ChatUp and choose **Cancel Subscription**. **Android:** Play Store → profile icon → **Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → ChatUp → Cancel**. Do it at least **24 hours before** the renewal date, otherwise the next period is charged and you keep access until it ends. Screenshot the 'Expires on' confirmation, that timestamp is the only evidence you'll have, because the developer publishes no support email.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the ChatUp refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The ChatUp contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
