The fastest way
You can't cancel a TicketWeb order just because you changed your mind. Sales are final, and refunds only come when an event is cancelled or postponed. Email help@ticketweb.ca (for US orders, info@ticketweb.com) with the subject "Refund request, Order #[number], [Event, Date]". Replies reportedly take 2 to 5 business days. Refunds go back to the card you paid with.
Or let yoink do it for you.

Timing matters: There's no subscription billing. Orders can't be cancelled for personal reasons. For rescheduled events, the Event Provider may set refund limits or deadlines, so ask for a refund as soon as the new date is announced if you can't attend.

What happens to what you’ve already paid
This policy covers one-off event ticket orders, which is all TicketWeb sells. There are no subscriptions. If an event is cancelled or postponed and a refund is issued, TicketWeb.ca orders get back the ticket's face value plus all service fees. Service fees may not be refunded on TicketWeb.com (US) orders. Delivery fees are never refunded, and refunds go to the original payment method. Refunds aren't offered for change of mind, schedule clashes, or a changed opening act or festival performer. For rescheduled events, the Event Provider sets any refund limits, and the US policy says refunds are paid once the Event Provider sends the money.
“If we issue you a refund for a ticket due to a canceled or postponed event, we will issue a refund of the ticket’s face value paid (or, for a discounted ticket, then instead the discounted ticket price paid) and, if purchased on TicketWeb.ca, all service fees.”

Does TicketWeb charge a cancellation fee?
TicketWeb’s terms mention conditions worth checking before you cancel, see the plan notes and policy quote above for the specifics we found. In general: rolling monthly plans end at the period you’ve already paid for with nothing extra to pay, while minimum-term or contract plans can carry an early-exit charge until the term ends.
What doesn’t work for cancelling TicketWeb
Based on 7 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Asking for a refund because you can't go anymore or changed your mind, The purchase policy only allows refunds for cancelled or postponed events. Reviewers say agents just repeat that there are no refunds, even when the case is escalated.
- ✕ Using the info.ticketweb.ca contact form, That form is only for venues and promoters who want to sell tickets. The page says it doesn't handle ticket buyers.
- ✕ Expecting delivery fees back, The purchase policy says delivery prices and other fees will never be refunded. Only face value and, on TicketWeb.ca, service fees are refundable.
- ✕ Asking for a refund because an opening act or festival performer changed, The purchase policy says no refund is owed when an opening act or festival performer is changed or cancelled.
- ✕ Calling the US toll-free line 1-866-468-3399 to reach a person, A consumer directory reports this line is automated only, with no option to reach a human.
- ✕ Filing a chargeback before asking TicketWeb for a refund, According to the purchase policy, TicketWeb may cancel your current tickets and refuse future purchases from the bank account used for the chargeback.
- ✕ Emailing the US inbox (info@ticketweb.com) about a Canadian order, TicketWeb's contact page sends Canadian order questions to help@ticketweb.ca and US orders to info@ticketweb.com. Writing to the wrong one can slow things down.
Cancelled TicketWeb but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from TicketWeb, treat it as not cancelled. Email
info@ticketweb.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on TicketWeb’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if TicketWeb charges again.
How TicketWeb will try to keep you
TicketWeb may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Agents repeat "our policy is no refunds" even after you ask for escalation (Trustpilot reviews)”
You say: Quote the TicketWeb.ca purchase policy: if an event is cancelled or postponed, you get face value plus all service fees back. Ask them to confirm in writing whether your event was cancelled or postponed, and if they still refuse, which clause of the published purchase policy they're relying on.
They’ll say: “Postponed shows: they keep your tickets for the new date instead of refunding”
You say: Under the purchase policy, the Event Provider may limit refunds for rescheduled events, but customers are told to contact TicketWeb to ask for a refund if they can't attend the new date. Say clearly that you can't make the new date and ask whether the Event Provider has approved refunds. Ask for the deadline in writing.
They’ll say: “Delaying the refund until the Event Provider sends the money (US policy wording)”
You say: Ask for a specific date for the refund. Point out that TicketWeb (Ticketmaster Canada Ltd. for Canadian events, TicketWeb LLC for US events) took your payment as the seller's agent, so it is the party that charged you.
They’ll say: “Not answering emails, or replying too late before the event (consumer review sites)”
You say: Send one email with your order number, event name and date, the email address you bought with, and the outcome you want. Follow up after 5 business days. If a cancelled-event refund still hasn't arrived after that, a card dispute is a reasonable next step, since the policy's chargeback warning is about disputes where no refund is owed.
They’ll say: “Making up rules that aren't in the published policy, e.g. a "same-day refund" rule (arefund.com complaint summary)”
You say: Ask the agent to quote or link the exact clause in the published purchase policy at info.ticketweb.ca/purchase-policy. If they can't, ask for the request to go to a supervisor.
They’ll say: “Refusing a refund after charging you for a checkout that failed or showed as declined (Trustpilot)”
You say: Say there is no valid order: no confirmation email and no tickets were sent. Ask them to reverse the charge or send proof that a completed order exists. If they can't show an order, dispute it with your card issuer as a charge for something never provided.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; TicketWeb has ~45 days to defend.
Delete your TicketWeb account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in TicketWeb’s account settings, email info@ticketweb.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under data-protection law in most jurisdictions. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling TicketWeb
Not for personal reasons. TicketWeb has no self-serve cancel button. Ticket sales are treated as final because event providers set the rules, and TicketWeb only refunds orders for events that are cancelled or postponed. If you can't go, check whether the event page or organizer offers resale or transfer. If the event *has* been cancelled or moved, email **help@ticketweb.ca** with the subject "Refund request, Order #[number], [Event, Date]" to get your money back.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the TicketWeb refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The TicketWeb contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
