Textverified’s refund policy
Textverified handles refunds case-by-case and explicitly says it does NOT refund users who simply want to stop using the service. Crypto top-ups may be non-refundable entirely. The FAQ gives a 30-day window from the original payment date to request a monetary refund. Automatic credit refunds do happen when a verification code never arrives, those are processed without a ticket.
“Textverified Credit or monetary refunds are assessed on a case by case basis. Purchases made via cryptocurrency may not be refunded. We reserve the right to deny a refund for any reason... We do not provide refunds to users who desire to cancel their use of services.”

Does Textverified charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Textverified’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Textverified
Based on 5 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Asking for a refund of credits because you changed your mind, Terms explicitly state: 'We do not provide refunds to users who desire to cancel their use of services.'
- ✕ Refund request for a crypto (BTC/ETH/USDT/XMR) top-up, Terms state purchases made via cryptocurrency may not be refunded; only original-payment-method refunds are issued.
- ✕ Chargeback via card issuer while account still active, Trustpilot reports show accounts being suspended for 'fraudulent payment type' with remaining credits forfeited.
- ✕ Phone call or live chat to cancel, There is no phone line or live chat, Textverified routes all support through a single web form at textverified.com/contact-us/form.
- ✕ Changing your account email to start fresh, FAQ confirms: 'Since your email address is your user/account name, we do not offer an email change option.'
Cancelled Textverified but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Textverified, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@textverified.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Textverified’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Textverified charges again.
How Textverified will try to keep you
Textverified may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Support replies pointing at 'internet hygiene' (VPN, proxy, browser fingerprint) instead of refunding a failed verification”
You say: The FAQ itself states 'we will refund you' when you press the Report Number button during a failed verification. Quote that line and demand the credit return, your IP/VPN setup is not a contractual reason to withhold a refund.
They’ll say: “Claiming the number 'worked' so the code charge stands even though the target service rejected it”
You say: Send a timestamped screenshot of the rejection from the target service (Google, Tinder, etc.), Textverified's own FAQ asks for this evidence and commits to 'work with you to make it right.'
They’ll say: “Stalling crypto refund requests by citing 'Purchases made via cryptocurrency may not be refunded'”
You say: Ask for the refund as Textverified Credits instead of fiat, the terms don't bar credit-based refunds, and credits are useful if you have any pending verifications. If denied, escalate via the card processor (if BTC was bought via a card-linked exchange) or open a Trustpilot review, public complaints have prompted re-engagement on that platform.
They’ll say: “Account suspended for 'fraudulent payment type' while credits sit in balance”
You say: Trustpilot users report this exact pattern with $50+ stranded. Demand either (a) reinstatement to spend the balance or (b) refund to the original card. Cite UK Consumer Rights Act / EU CRD / California ARL right to recover prepaid balances for undelivered services.
They’ll say: “Renewable rental quietly auto-renews at $5+/month after you stopped using the number”
You say: Disable auto-renew inside the rental dashboard the same day you finish with the number. If you missed it and were charged within 30 days, cite the FAQ's 30-day refund window and request reversal to the original card.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires Textverified to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Textverified has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Textverified’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Textverified’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Textverified must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Textverified account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Textverified’s account settings, email support@textverified.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Textverified
Textverified has no subscription to cancel for pay-as-you-go credits, you simply stop topping up. For renewable rentals, switch off auto-renew in your dashboard before the 30-day cycle ends. To fully close the account, the FAQ instructs: 'Contact us through support requesting your account to be deleted and we will do so.' Use the form at textverified.com/contact-us/form with the subject 'Account deletion request.'
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Textverified refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Textverified contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
