The fastest way
Serper has no subscription to cancel. Credit packs are prepaid and never auto-renew, so you just stop topping up. To get money back, email a refund request within 7 days of your first purchase, with under 20% of credits used. To close your account, email privacy@serper.dev with the subject "Account deletion request, [your login email]". Serper doesn't publish response times.

Serper plans you can cancel
- Free (2,500 one-time queries, no card)
One-time free allowance, not a trial that converts. No card is required, so nothing can bill you automatically.
- Starter: $50 one-time for 50,000 credits ($1.00/1k)
Prepaid credit pack, not a subscription. Credits are valid for 6 months from purchase and unused credits lapse. Nothing to cancel; just don't buy another pack. Prices exclude sales tax/VAT.
- Standard: $375 one-time for 500,000 credits ($0.75/1k)
Prepaid pack. Credits expire 6 months after purchase. Does not auto-renew.
- Scale: $1,250 one-time for 2,500,000 credits ($0.50/1k)
Prepaid pack. Credits expire 6 months after purchase. Does not auto-renew.
- Ultimate: $3,750 one-time for 12,500,000 credits ($0.30/1k)
Prepaid pack. Credits expire 6 months after purchase, so the cheap per-query rate only helps if you use the credits in time. Does not auto-renew.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
Serper only sells prepaid API credit packs ($50 to $3,750). There is no recurring subscription, so the refund policy only covers credit-pack purchases. You get a full refund if you ask within 7 calendar days of your FIRST payment for credits AND have used less than 20% of them. There are no partial or pro-rated refunds. Credits that expire after the 6-month validity period aren't refunded, and the terms don't mention any refund for later top-ups.
“Serper offers a full refund when A refund request is submitted within 7 calendar days from the date of the first payment for Serper API credits. Less than 20% of provided Serper API credits are used.”

Does Serper charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Serper’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Serper
Based on 4 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Asking support to restore or refund credits that expired after 6 months, A Trustpilot reviewer lost about $1k of expired credits and said support could do nothing. Every pack states 'Credits valid for 6 months'.
- ✕ Requesting a refund after using 20% or more of a pack, The terms make a full refund conditional on less than 20% of credits being used. There's no pro-rated alternative.
- ✕ Requesting a refund more than 7 days after purchase, The terms set a 7-calendar-day window from the date of the first payment.
- ✕ Relying on the refund policy for a second or later top-up, The terms only refer to 'the first payment for Serper API credits'. Repeat purchases are likely outside the written policy, so you'd have to ask for goodwill.
- ✕ Looking for a 'cancel subscription' button in the dashboard, Serper has no subscription or auto-renewal. Packs are one-time top-ups, so there's no cancel flow. You just stop buying.
Cancelled Serper but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Serper, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@serper.devreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Serper’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Serper charges again.
How Serper will try to keep you
Serper may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Refusing refunds for expired credits by pointing to the 6-month validity on every pack”
You say: If you just bought a pack that's too big, ask for a refund straight away. Inside 7 days with under 20% used, the terms promise a full refund. After expiry, write that the expiry wasn't clear to you when you bought, and ask for goodwill credit or a partial refund. Other buyers have publicly said they were misled about this.
They’ll say: “Limiting refunds to the 'first payment' only”
You say: Quote the clause back to them. If this is your first credit purchase, it qualifies. For a later top-up, ask for the same treatment as a goodwill exception, and include the date and the share of credits used.
They’ll say: “Terms say Serper is 'a business-to-business service and does not provide end-user (consumer) services'”
You say: If you bought as an individual with a personal card, this label may not override the consumer-protection laws where you live. Say you're a consumer and ask them to honour those rights alongside the 7-day policy.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Serper has ~45 days to defend.
Delete your Serper account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Serper’s account settings, email support@serper.dev with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Serper
There's nothing to cancel. Serper doesn't sell subscriptions. You buy prepaid **credit packs** (from $50 for 50,000 credits) that never auto-renew, so once you stop topping up, you won't be charged again. When your balance hits zero, Serper just stops accepting queries. If you also want your account and personal data deleted, email **privacy@serper.dev** and ask for account deletion and erasure of your data. Serper's privacy policy says it aims to reply within one month.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Serper refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Serper contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
