The fastest way
NetEase Games purchases (Marvel Rivals, Once Human, Where Winds Meet) are cancelled in the store where you paid: Steam, App Store, Google Play, PlayStation or Xbox. For refunds, use in-game Customer Service or email support@global.netease.com with the subject 'Refund request, [game], order [ID]'. NetEase doesn't publish a typical response time.
Or let yoink do it for you.
30 seconds. AI emails NetEase, handles retention, chases the refund. You approve once, then sleep.

NetEase won’t action a cancellation from an email alone, use the fastest channel above for the cancellation itself. This email still earns its place: it puts your cancellation date in writing (your evidence if they keep billing) and it’s where the refund request happens.

What happens to what you’ve already paid
NetEase's terms say that in-game purchases (virtual currency, skins, chests and other consumables) are final unless the law requires otherwise, and consumables can't be cancelled once you start using them. The same terms give a 14-day window for two things: subscription services, which you can cancel and get refunded within 14 days of the first transaction even after using them, and digital content you haven't started downloading or streaming. There is no refund button in the games, so refunds for accidental or duplicate purchases are at support's discretion. Physical merchandise from the NetEase Store has its own policy: pre-orders can be cancelled by email until the pre-order period ends, and in-game codes are non-refundable once delivered.
“UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THESE TERMS OR REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ALL PURCHASES WITHIN OUR SERVICES ARE FINAL, NON-REFUNDABLE, AND NON-CANCELLABLE.”

Does NetEase charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in NetEase’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling NetEase
Based on 9 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer before asking support, Players report that chargebacks on NetEase games lead to permanent bans or a negative currency balance. NetEase's terms also ban 'repeatedly canceling purchase orders' after getting or using virtual items. Try the platform store's refund process and NetEase support first.
- ✕ Asking fan sites (e.g. marvelrivals.gg) for a refund or unban, Fan sites say clearly that they can't refund purchases, lift bans or reach accounts. Only NetEase support can do that.
- ✕ Emailing the press or influencer addresses on neteasegames.com, Those mailboxes are for press and creator enquiries. NetEase's contact page tells players to use in-game customer support or the game's own support email first.
- ✕ Asking for a refund on currency or items you've already spent or equipped, The terms say consumables can't be cancelled once you use them. Refund guides add that an untouched purchase is much easier for support to reverse.
- ✕ Looking for a refund button inside the game, Marvel Rivals and other NetEase titles have no self-service refund feature. Every request goes to support by ticket or email.
Cancelled NetEase but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from NetEase, treat it as not cancelled. Email
gameclub.support@service.netease.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on NetEase’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if NetEase charges again.
How NetEase will try to keep you
NetEase may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Boilerplate 'all purchases are final' reply”
You say: Your own Terms of Use make exceptions 'as required by applicable law'. They also let me cancel a subscription service and get a refund within 14 days of the first transaction, and cancel unstarted digital content within 14 days. My purchase was made on [date], which is inside that window. Please process the refund.
They’ll say: “Canned, generic support reply that ignores the actual issue (players have posted replies telling them to 'explore on your own')”
You say: Your last reply didn't deal with my request. I'm asking for a refund for order [ID] dated [date] for [item], which [was bought by accident / was a duplicate / was never delivered]. Please pass this to a team member who can authorise refunds, and confirm in writing.
They’ll say: “Account deletion or data request that asks for proof of payment (reported by Steam users with free accounts)”
You say: This account has no payment history because the game is free to play. Please verify me using the registered email address [email]. I'm making this request under my data protection rights, as set out in your privacy policy at support@global.netease.com.
They’ll say: “Support ignores refund tickets, so players feel pushed towards a chargeback that triggers a ban”
You say: I'm putting this request on record before using any card dispute process. If I haven't had a substantive answer within 14 days, I'll take it further through the platform store and the consumer channels available to me.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; NetEase has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of NetEase’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If NetEase’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. NetEase must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your NetEase account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in NetEase’s account settings, email gameclub.support@service.netease.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling NetEase
NetEase has no central cancel page. Monthly passes and subscriptions are billed by whichever store you used. **iPhone/iPad:** Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Cancel. **Android:** Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. **Steam, PlayStation, Xbox:** turn off auto-renew in the store's subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal. NetEase's terms also allow a refund request within 14 days of the first subscription payment.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the NetEase refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The NetEase contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
