Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi Neo team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]

Wait 24 hours. If there's no response, send a polite one-line follow-up referencing the original request.
Neo plans you can cancel
- Business Starter$2.49/mo
Priced per mailbox per month (rate shown on the pricing page includes the advertised 20% saving); the chosen plan applies to every mailbox on the domain, so cancelling ends email for the whole organisation.
- Business Standard$4.99/mo
Monthly, yearly, two-yearly and four-yearly billing cycles are sold; longer cycles are charged up front, so a mid-term cancellation just stops future renewals.
- Business Max$9.99/mo
Plans cannot be mixed per user on the same domain, so 'downgrading some mailboxes' is not an option, you change the plan for everyone or cancel.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
For the Neo Mail / Neo Site subscription itself, the only written refund right is a 7-day one: if your subscription included a domain provided by Neo and you terminate within seven days of purchase, you are eligible for a refund of the fees paid. Outside that window there is no pro-rata refund, the terms state that on closure of an account no refund will be made of any subscription paid in advance, so a cancelled yearly or multi-year plan simply runs to its expiry date. Domain registration fees and any Partner/reseller purchase are separate: where you bought Neo through a Partner, that Partner's payment, cancellation and refund terms apply instead. Refunds for accidental or duplicate card charges are handled case-by-case by support at hello@neo.space, not by an automatic policy.
“11.1 Where the Customer’s Subscription includes provision of a domain by Neo, and such Subscription is terminated by the Customer within seven (7) days from the date of Subscription, then the Customer is eligible to receive a refund of the Fees paid.”

Does Neo charge a cancellation fee?
Neo’s terms mention conditions worth checking before you cancel, see the plan notes and policy quote above for the specifics we found. In general: rolling monthly plans end at the period you’ve already paid for with nothing extra to pay, while minimum-term or contract plans can carry an early-exit charge until the term ends.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Neo
Based on 7 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Expecting cancellation to end service and trigger a refund immediately, Cancelling in the admin panel only stops future charges, the subscription stays active until the current plan's expiry date, with no immediate termination and no pro-rata money back.
- ✕ Emailing a cancellation request and assuming it landed, App-store reviewers report requesting cancellation more than once and being told the requests were never received, then being argued with over name/email verification before a refund was refused.
- ✕ Cancelling an hour after signing up to escape an annual charge, A reviewer who tried to cancel within an hour reported the account still ran to the renewal date a full year out, with no refund offered.
- ✕ Raising a bank chargeback as the first move, A reviewer reported their business mailbox was suspended for a week and Neo demanded screenshot proof that the bank had withdrawn the chargeback before restoring service.
- ✕ Cancelling through Apple/Google app-store subscriptions, Neo bills by credit card through the Neo Admin Panel, not in-app purchase, so there is nothing to cancel in your phone's subscription list, deleting the app changes nothing.
- ✕ Ignoring 'your subscription expired' emails as proof it's done, A Trustpilot reviewer cancelled over a month earlier and still received daily expiry reminders, so those emails are not a reliable cancellation confirmation, keep the in-panel confirmation instead.
Cancelled Neo but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Neo, treat it as not cancelled. Email
hello@neo.spacereferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Neo’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Neo charges again.
How Neo will try to keep you
Neo may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Blanket discount offers, a permanent site-wide countdown sale (40% off) plus an extra 50% coupon code at checkout, used to talk price-sensitive leavers into renewing instead.”
You say: Reply: "I'm not looking for a discounted renewal. Please confirm in writing that the subscription is cancelled, auto-renew is off, and no further card charges will be made."
They’ll say: “Cancellation-reason dropdown before the confirm step in the admin panel, used to route you into save offers rather than completing the cancellation.”
You say: Pick any reason, press confirm, then screenshot the confirmation screen. If the flow ends without a confirmation, email hello@neo.space the screenshot and ask for written confirmation of the cancellation date.
They’ll say: “"Your access continues until the expiry date" framing, offered as a benefit to deflect a refund request on a prepaid annual or multi-year plan.”
You say: Answer: "Continued access isn't what I asked for. I'm requesting a refund of the unused prepaid term under clause 11.1 and my statutory cancellation rights, please confirm the amount and the date it will be returned to my card."
They’ll say: “Disputing that the cancellation request was ever received, then looping on identity checks (email doesn't match the name on the account) until the billing date passes.”
You say: Send one email from the admin address containing the domain, invoice ID, last four card digits and the original request date, and state: "This is the third dated request; treat the earliest date as the effective cancellation date."
They’ll say: “Chargeback pushback, asking you to get your bank to withdraw the dispute and to supply screenshot proof before service is restored.”
You say: Keep the dispute open until the refund is actually credited, and tell them: "I'll close the dispute once the refund appears on my statement. Suspending a paid mailbox while a billing dispute is in progress isn't acceptable."
They’ll say: “Irreversible data deletion used as leverage, once the order is deleted you lose all mailboxes, all email data and the Control Panel.”
You say: Export your mail and contacts first, then cancel. Ask support to confirm the exact date data will be purged so you are not pressured into renewing to keep access.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires Neo to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Neo has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Neo’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Neo’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Neo must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Neo account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Neo’s account settings, email hello@neo.space with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Neo
Go to **admin.neo.space** and sign in with your admin credentials. In the Email Control Panel, open **Billing and Subscription** in the left side panel, choose the option to manage your subscription, then select **Cancel Subscription**, pick a reason and confirm. Neo's help article says this ensures you won't be charged going forward. There is no published phone line, if the panel won't complete the cancellation, email **hello@neo.space** with your domain and invoice ID and ask for written confirmation of the cancellation date. Screenshot the confirmation screen either way.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Neo refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Neo contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
