Meta Business Suite’s refund policy
Meta Business Suite is free; only Meta Verified for Business is billable. Once you cancel, you keep paid features until the cycle ends, Meta does not pro-rate or issue partial credits. Refunds are only routinely issued when verification review fails after first payment. Where issued, the money returns to the original payment method and can take up to 60 days depending on your bank.
“Meta does not offer any credits or partial refunds for canceled Meta Verified subscriptions.”

Does Meta Business Suite charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Meta Business Suite’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Meta Business Suite
Based on 6 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Deleting the Meta Business Suite or Facebook app from your phone, Removing the app does not stop the recurring charge, billing continues via Apple, Google or Meta's web checkout until you cancel the subscription itself.
- ✕ Cancelling on the web when you originally subscribed in-app, If you signed up through iOS, Apple keeps charging until you cancel in App Store → Subscriptions; the same applies to Google Play.
- ✕ Cancelling Instagram Meta Verified to stop Facebook charges (or vice-versa), Instagram and Facebook verifications are separate subscriptions even when paid from the same card, each must be cancelled individually.
- ✕ Calling a '1-877' Meta Business Support number found in Google results, Meta does not publish a public toll-free support line; numbers posted on Goodreads/blog spam are scam call-forwarders, not Meta.
- ✕ Requesting a refund through Meta's chatbot after the verification badge issued, Meta's policy refuses partial refunds; smaller advertisers report being routed to chatbots with no human escalation.
Cancelled Meta Business Suite but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Meta Business Suite, treat it as not cancelled. Email
platformcs@support.facebook.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Meta Business Suite’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Meta Business Suite charges again.
How Meta Business Suite will try to keep you
Meta Business Suite may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Bundle discount offer, Meta will pitch a discounted price if you verify a second asset (e.g. Instagram + Facebook) instead of cancelling.”
You say: Decline. Adding a second paid asset doubles your exposure to a service you're already trying to leave. A bundle 'discount' is still a price increase.
They’ll say: “Keep-the-badge-until-cycle-end framing, Meta lets the verified tick remain through the paid period so cancellation feels reversible.”
You say: Cancel immediately on day 1 of a cycle. You keep the badge for the full period you've already paid for, there is zero penalty for cancelling early.
They’ll say: “Downgrade trap, downgrading via the App Store can leave Apple's records showing the higher tier as active and trigger a stuck 'refund in progress' state.”
You say: Cancel outright, wait for the period to end, then re-subscribe at the lower tier from scratch. Do not downgrade mid-cycle through Apple.
They’ll say: “Priority support upsell, Meta positions Business Plus/Premium as the only way to reach a human if your ad account or page gets disabled.”
You say: If support access is your only reason to subscribe, file a Business Help Center ticket first (it's free) and only pay if Meta's automated triage fails. Most disabled-account appeals don't need a paid tier.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires Meta Business Suite to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Meta Business Suite has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Meta Business Suite’s own policy.

If Meta Business Suite’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Meta Business Suite must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Meta Business Suite account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Meta Business Suite’s account settings, email platformcs@support.facebook.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
