The fastest way
Cancel GTA+ in the store you bought it from: PlayStation Store (Subscriptions Management), account.microsoft.com, your Steam account, or store.rockstargames.com/gta-plus/manage for Rockstar/Epic PC. You can't cancel by email. Turn off auto-renew and the in-store toggle confirms it on screen. Perks last until the billing period ends. For tickets, use the subject 'GTA+ cancellation, stop auto-renewal'.
Or let yoink do it for you.
30 seconds. AI emails GTA+, handles retention, chases the refund. You approve once, then sleep.

- Online (fastest): Direct cancel flow: store.rockstargames.com/gta-plus/manage
- Email: GTA+ doesn’t process cancellations by email. Still worth sending one: it dates your cancellation request in writing, which matters for disputes and refunds.
Timing matters: Renews monthly on your sign-up date. Turn off auto-renew before the next renewal to avoid another charge. Access lasts until the end of the current paid period, with no pro-rata refund. Console and Steam subscriptions must be cancelled in that store (PlayStation Subscriptions Management, account.microsoft.com, store.steampowered.com/account/). A ban or suspension doesn't stop billing.
The email that backs it up
GTA+ won’t action a cancellation from an email alone, use the fastest channel above for the cancellation itself. This email still earns its place: it puts your cancellation date in writing (your evidence if they keep billing) and it’s where the refund request happens.

Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi GTA+ team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]

Wait 24 hours. If there's no response, send a polite one-line follow-up referencing the original request.
GTA+ plans you can cancel
- GTA+ Membership (Monthly)$7.99/mo
Monthly auto-renewing membership sold through PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam and Rockstar Store/Epic (PC, GTAV Enhanced). Cancel in the same store you paid through. Rockstar can't cancel a console or Steam subscription for you. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- GTA+ One Month (GTA VI Pre-order Bonus, PS5)$0.00/mo
PS5 owners who pre-order Grand Theft Auto VI get one month of GTA+ at no extra cost. The store listing says the 'Subscription continues until canceled', so it turns into a paid $7.99 monthly membership unless you turn off auto-renew in PlayStation Subscriptions Management. The offer ends 19 November 2026.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
GTA+ membership charges: cancelling only stops future renewals. You keep benefits until the paid month ends and Rockstar doesn't refund part-months. Any refund of a GTA+ charge depends on the store that billed you (PlayStation, Microsoft, Steam, or Rockstar Store/Epic via the Rockstar Games Refund Policy). PlayStation's listing says payments already made aren't refunded. One-off purchases are separate: Rockstar Store digital games may be refundable with no more than 2 hours of runtime, but GTA$, Shark Cards and other virtual goods are listed as non-refundable. Regional statutory rights (EU/UK withdrawal, unauthorised-charge disputes) can still apply on top of these terms.
“Auto-renewal may be canceled at any time through the applicable store, but access to GTA+ will terminate only at the end of your then-current billing period. See store terms for applicable refund policies, if any.”

Does GTA+ charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in GTA+’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling GTA+
Based on 3 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Emailing support@rockstargames.com, A Steam community user reported getting an auto-reply saying the address is outgoing-only and not monitored. Rockstar handles written support through tickets and live chat at support.rockstargames.com, not an email inbox.
- ✕ Asking Rockstar Support to cancel a PlayStation, Xbox or Steam GTA+ subscription, Rockstar's own help article says auto-renewal must be cancelled through the store you originally bought from. Support will send you back to that store.
- ✕ Uninstalling or deleting GTA V / GTA Online, The subscription is tied to the store billing account, not the game install. Billing carries on until auto-renew is turned off in that store.
- ✕ Assuming a ban or suspension ends the membership, Rockstar's GTA+ support page says that if you're banned or suspended from GTA Online, you still have to cancel GTA+ yourself.
- ✕ Looking for a cancel button inside the Steam game library, Steam buyers report there's no visible cancel button in the client. Rockstar directs Steam subscribers to store.steampowered.com/account/ to manage the subscription.
- ✕ Calling Rockstar to cancel, Rockstar doesn't publish a phone line for GTA+ cancellations. Support is web, ticket and live chat only, and the old toll-free numbers listed on directory sites aren't confirmed by Rockstar.
Cancelled GTA+ but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from GTA+, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@rockstargames.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on GTA+’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if GTA+ charges again.
How GTA+ will try to keep you
GTA+ may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Free GTA+ month bundled with the GTA VI pre-order on PS5 that quietly converts to paid ('Subscription continues until canceled').”
You say: Turn off auto-renew in PlayStation Subscriptions Management as soon as you redeem the bonus month. You keep the full free month either way, and you won't be charged $7.99 when it ends.
They’ll say: “Garage lock-in fear: players believe their cars in the 100-slot Vinewood Club Garage get deleted if GTA+ lapses, so they keep paying.”
You say: Rockstar has confirmed you keep permanent access to vehicles already stored in the Vinewood Club Garage after GTA+ lapses. You just can't add or swap in new ones. Claim any monthly rewards you want before your period ends, then cancel.
They’ll say: “Store deflection: Rockstar says it can't action console or Steam cancellations and points you to the platform, which adds friction.”
You say: Go straight to the platform that bills you (PlayStation Store, account.microsoft.com, Steam account page, or store.rockstargames.com/gta-plus/manage) and turn off auto-renew there. It's a self-serve toggle and doesn't need Rockstar's approval.
They’ll say: “Ticket-only support with slow written replies (third parties report 3 to 7 business days) for billing disputes.”
You say: Use Rockstar live chat at support.rockstargames.com. Community members report replies within minutes. If a refund ticket stalls, escalate in writing with your receipt, transaction ID and platform, and keep a paper trail.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires GTA+ to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; GTA+ has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of GTA+’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If GTA+’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. GTA+ must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your GTA+ account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in GTA+’s account settings, email support@rockstargames.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling GTA+
