The fastest way
Cancel a Google Store order in Order history at store.google.com/orderhistory before it ships, that is the only self-serve route. Once shipped, refuse delivery or return it within 15 days of receipt. Email store-eu-support@google.com, subject "Cancellation and refund request, order [number]". Refunds land 1 to 14 business days after inspection.
Or let yoink do it for you.
30 seconds. AI emails Google Store, handles retention, chases the refund. You approve once, then sleep.

- Phone: Call +44 800 328 6081 and say “cancel my service”. Expect a retention pitch, decline it twice and hold firm.
- Online (fastest): Direct cancel flow: store.google.com/orderhistory
- Post: Returns are shipped back with the prepaid label emailed with your RMA; you must use the carrier named on that label (UPS or DHL) even if the original delivery used a different one.. Send it tracked so you can prove delivery.
- Email: Google Store doesn’t process cancellations by email. Still worth sending one: it dates your cancellation request in writing, which matters for disputes and refunds.
Timing matters: The cancel option disappears the moment the carrier takes the parcel. The 15-day return clock starts on the delivery date, not the order date, and once a return is started you have 14 days to ship the item back.
Cancelling a Google Store order by email
Google Store won’t action a cancellation from an email alone, use the fastest channel above for the cancellation itself. This email still earns its place: it puts your cancellation date in writing (your evidence if they keep billing) and it’s where the refund request happens.

What happens to what you’ve already paid
This policy is about HARDWARE bought at store.google.com (Pixel phones, Watch, Buds, Nest, Fitbit, accessories): most items can be returned within 15 calendar days of delivery, with certain items given 30 days and AT&T contract phones 14 days. Once you start a return you have 14 days to ship the item back, and after Google receives and inspects it the refund goes to your original payment method in 1 to 14 business days. An unshipped order is a different case, you cancel it in Order history and any charge or authorisation hold is released; if it has already shipped you refuse delivery and must contact Google Store Support to get the money back. Subscriptions attached to a device (Fitbit Premium, Home/Health Premium) are separate charges: they are not auto-refunded and must be cancelled by you, though a Premium plan included with a returned device is terminated on return. Purchases made through an approved third-party retailer are refunded by that retailer, not Google.
“You can return most items within 15 days after you receive them.”

Does Google Store charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Google Store’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Google Store
Based on 5 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Emailing a general Google address to cancel an order, Google publishes no general customer-service email; consumer directories confirm support is routed through help-centre forms, chat and product-specific channels, so a cancellation only counts once it is done in Order history or logged by an agent.
- ✕ Hitting cancel in Order history after the parcel is dispatched, The Google Store help page states that once the carrier has your order you can no longer cancel, you can only refuse delivery (then contact Support for the refund) or return it later.
- ✕ Requesting the refund through Google Play refund tools, Play handles apps and in-app subscriptions; Google Store hardware orders sit in a separate order system and Play agents bounce hardware cases back to the Store team.
- ✕ Contacting Google for a return on a device bought from a carrier or third-party retailer, Google's help page says purchases from approved third-party retailers must be returned to that retailer; Fi and carrier-locked Pixels also run on separate return routes.
- ✕ Sending the item back without the RMA number, label or factory reset, The return confirmation email carries the RMA that tracks the parcel; Google also warns you must back up and factory reset, ship with the specified carrier's label, and exclude SIMs and non-original accessories, or the inspection stage stalls.
- ✕ Waiting past the 15-day window and hoping for goodwill, The window runs from the delivery date, not the order date, and returns are refused once it lapses unless the device is faulty and covered by warranty.
Cancelled Google Store but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Google Store, treat it as not cancelled. Email
store-eu-support@google.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Google Store’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Google Store charges again.
How Google Store will try to keep you
Google Store may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Chat/case handovers reset, each new agent re-asks for the same order details and the case restarts from scratch”
You say: Put everything in one written message: order number, RMA, delivery date, carrier tracking ID and the exact outcome you want. Ask for the case ID in every reply and quote it back, so a new agent inherits the file instead of reopening it.
They’ll say: “Being told the money sits with the app developer / another team, and pushed to chase them instead”
You say: If the charge appears on a Google Store order receipt, Google is the merchant of record. State that plainly, attach the receipt, and ask the agent to record a refusal in writing if they won't process it, that written refusal is what your bank or a consumer body needs.
They’ll say: “Being charged again after a return or replacement because Google says the old device never arrived”
You say: Keep the carrier drop-off receipt and the delivery scan. Reply with the tracking number, the signature/scan time and the RMA, and ask for the inspection record for that RMA before any re-charge stands.
They’ll say: “Refund 'raised with the back-end team, wait 5 to 7 days' loops that quietly expire”
You say: Set a deadline in writing: 'If the refund is not issued within 14 days I will escalate and pursue a card chargeback.' Reports from buyers show refunds move fastest once a complaint is copied to a national consumer/regulatory body and the merchant knows a paper trail exists.
They’ll say: “Financing kept running after the device is returned”
You say: Treat the credit agreement as a separate cancellation: send a written complaint through Google's payments complaints process (store-support@google.com) quoting the order number, return RMA and the date Google received the device.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires Google Store to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Google Store has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Google Store’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Google Store’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Google Store must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Google Store account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Google Store’s account settings, email store-eu-support@google.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Google Store
Sign in at **store.google.com/orderhistory**, open the order, select **View or edit order**, and choose the cancel option. This only exists while the order is still unshipped, Google's help page is explicit that once the carrier has your parcel, cancellation is off the table. If a charge or authorisation hold was taken, it is released when the order cancels. There is no email or phone route that reliably cancels an order faster than the self-serve flow, so do it in the account first and keep a screenshot of the cancelled status as your proof.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Google Store refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Google Store contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
