How to Get a Google Store Refund After the 15 Days.
Google Store refunds are per-order, and their own policy gives you a 15-day window. Miss it and you still have tools, a clear email, a card-issuer chargeback. Here's the playbook.

The short answer
This policy is about HARDWARE bought at store.google.com (Pixel phones, Watch, Buds, Nest, Fitbit, accessories): most items can be returned within 15 calendar days of delivery, with certain items given 30 days and AT&T contract phones 14 days. Once you start a return you have 14 days to ship the item back, and after Google receives and inspects it the refund goes to your original payment method in 1 to 14 business days. An unshipped order is a different case, you cancel it in Order history and any charge or authorisation hold is released; if it has already shipped you refuse delivery and must contact Google Store Support to get the money back. Subscriptions attached to a device (Fitbit Premium, Home/Health Premium) are separate charges: they are not auto-refunded and must be cancelled by you, though a Premium plan included with a returned device is terminated on return. Purchases made through an approved third-party retailer are refunded by that retailer, not Google.

“You can return most items within 15 days after you receive them.”
, verbatim from Google Store’s terms
How long does a Google Store refund take?
Most merchants agree to a straightforward refund within 1 to 3 working days of a well-written email request. Once agreed, the money itself takes another 3 to 5 working days to land, that part is card-network processing and no merchant can skip it. If nothing has arrived 10 working days after a written “refund approved”, reply on the same thread asking for the ARN (acquirer reference number), which your bank can trace.
Note Google Store’s own policy works on a 15-day window, ask inside it and the request is routine; outside it you’re relying on goodwill or statutory rights.
What you can claim
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA)Dispute any credit-card charge in writing within 60 days.
For US credit-card payments, the FCBA gives you 60 days from the statement date to dispute a Google Store charge in writing. Your card issuer is required to investigate and may withhold the disputed amount during the process.
- California ARL refund rightRefund if cancel was blocked or unclear.
If Google Store made it hard to cancel under California ARL, you’re entitled to a refund of charges taken since the obstruction. Multiple class actions (including against Adobe + Hulu) have set the precedent.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackVisa/Mastercard chargeback works everywhere they do.
Open a chargeback for “subscription not cancelled” or “services not as described”, your bank initiates, Google Store has ~45 days to defend. Works regardless of where Google Store is headquartered.

PayPal’s Buyer Protection covers “item not as described”, applies to services that didn’t deliver. Resolution typically within 20 days.

Refund FAQ for Google Store
Sign in at **store.google.com/orderhistory**, open the order, select **View or edit order**, and choose the cancel option. This only exists while the order is still unshipped, Google's help page is explicit that once the carrier has your parcel, cancellation is off the table. If a charge or authorisation hold was taken, it is released when the order cancels. There is no email or phone route that reliably cancels an order faster than the self-serve flow, so do it in the account first and keep a screenshot of the cancelled status as your proof.
