The fastest way
To cancel Docker, sign in at Docker Home, select your organization, go to Billing, open the action menu, and choose Cancel subscription. You'll keep paid access until the end of the billing cycle. Self-serve refunds are only honored within a 15-day window; outside that, fees are non-refundable. No billing email is published, submit a ticket at app.docker.com/support/contact.
Or let yoink do it for you.
30 seconds. AI emails Docker, handles retention, chases the refund. You approve once, then sleep.

Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi Docker team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]
Wait for confirmation
Wait 24 hours. If there's no response, send a polite one-line follow-up referencing the original request.
Docker plans you can cancel
- Docker Personal$0.00/mo
Free tier, downgrading from a paid plan to Personal effectively cancels recurring charges.
- Docker Pro$11.00/mo
Cancel in Billing > action menu > Cancel subscription. Access continues until end of current billing cycle.
- Docker Team$16.00/mo
Self-serve cancellation via Billing. Minimum one user to remain on Team plan.
- Docker Business$24.00/mo
Sales-assisted Business subscriptions must contact their account manager to downgrade or cancel.
Docker’s refund policy
Docker's terms state fees are non-refundable, but the Pricing FAQ carves out a 15-day refund window for self-serve customers. Outside that window you can cancel any time but will keep access, and the charge, until the end of the current billing cycle. Downgrades don't refund the unused portion. Business/sales-led contracts are firmly non-refundable; you must contact your account manager.
“You will not receive any refunds if you cancel your account or otherwise terminate these Terms.”

Does Docker charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Docker’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Docker
Based on 3 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Pausing the subscription to skip a billing cycle, Docker docs explicitly state you can't pause or delay a subscription, only downgrade.
- ✕ Requesting a prorated refund for unused time after cancelling, Docker docs confirm the unused portion isn't refundable; you simply retain access until cycle end.
- ✕ Calling a phone number for billing help, Docker provides no public support phone number, only a web ticket form via app.docker.com/support/contact.
- ✕ Emailing support@docker.com expecting fast resolution, Address is listed on third-party sites but community forums report tickets going unanswered for weeks; Docker routes all billing issues through the Support Portal.
- ✕ Cancelling a sales-assisted Business contract mid-term, The Subscription Service Agreement binds customers to the full Subscription Term regardless of usage; cancellation requires the account manager.
Cancelled Docker but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Docker, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@docker.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Docker’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Docker charges again.
How Docker will try to keep you
Docker may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Mandatory cancellation feedback survey”
You say: You must fill out the feedback survey to continue with cancellation, answer minimally (e.g. 'no longer needed') and proceed; it is not a negotiation gate.
They’ll say: “Offer to downgrade instead of cancel”
You say: Downgrading still keeps a paid tier active. If you want zero charges, choose Cancel subscription, not downgrade, or move all the way down to Personal (free).
They’ll say: “Silence on billing tickets (multi-week backlog reported)”
You say: If your support ticket is ignored, open a card chargeback citing the 15-day refund window in Docker's own Pricing FAQ, and reference Section 11.2 of the Terms of Service confirming your right to terminate at any time.
They’ll say: “Sales-led Business contracts require account-manager contact”
You say: Email your named account manager in writing (not phone) stating you are terminating at the end of the Subscription Term and request written confirmation of the non-renewal date.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires Docker to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Docker has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Docker’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Docker’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Docker must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Docker account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Docker’s account settings, email support@docker.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Docker
Sign in to Docker Home, select the organization you want to cancel, choose **Billing**, open the action menu and click **Cancel subscription**. You'll be required to complete a short feedback survey before the cancellation finalizes. You keep paid access until the end of the current billing cycle, and the plan won't renew. Sales-assisted Docker Business customers can't self-serve, you must contact your account manager.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Docker refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Docker contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
