The fastest way
To cancel a DJI order before it ships, log into your DJI account and select cancel under "My Orders". After shipment, refuse delivery or email support.eu@dji.com (EU) or onlinesales@dji.com within 14 days of receipt. Subject: "Cancellation request — Order #[number] — 14-day right to return". Cancellation Request — [your account email]Send this template
Hi DJI team, I'm writing to request the immediate cancellation of my subscription tied to this account, effective today. Under applicable consumer-protection law (UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, EU Directive 2011/83/EU, or the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule depending on your jurisdiction), I'm entitled to terminate this continuous service contract through the same channel it was formed in — please confirm by reply that no further charges will be made. If your policy permits, I'd also appreciate a pro-rata refund for any unused portion of the current billing period. Best, [your name]

Wait 24 hours. If there's no response, send a polite one-line follow-up referencing the original request.
DJI plans you can cancel
- DJI Hardware Purchase (drones, cameras, gimbals, accessories)
One-off purchase — cancel in 'My Orders' before shipment; after shipment use the 14-day return window.
- DJI Care Refresh
Refundable only if the covered product has been returned and no service has been used under the plan.
DJI’s refund policy
DJI gives you 14 calendar days from delivery to return a change-of-mind purchase for a full refund via the original payment method. The product must be unused, unactivated and in its original packaging with every accessory. You must email support before shipping anything back, and you pay the return shipping unless the item is defective. Refunds usually settle in 7–14 business days after DJI receives the goods.
“you may return a purchased item within 14 calendar days of the date the product is delivered to your address, for a replacement or a refund based on the original payment method”

What doesn’t work for cancelling DJI
Based on 5 sources — Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Cancelling on the DJI Store after the order has shipped — DJI's help centre explicitly states an order can only be cancelled from 'My Orders' before shipment — post-shipment you must go through returns.
- ✕ Phoning to cancel an in-flight order — Reddit and DJI Forum posts repeatedly report no phone or email response when trying to stop an order in warehouse processing.
- ✕ Returning an activated / charged drone for a full refund — Any signs of activation, charging or use void the change-of-mind return and can trigger a restocking fee or rejection.
- ✕ Refunding DJI Care Refresh after using a replacement claim — Care can only be refunded if the covered aircraft has been returned and no service has been performed under the plan.
- ✕ Partial refund of a bundle — For discounted bundles, DJI will only refund the entire order — individual items in a bundle cannot be refunded separately.
How DJI will try to keep you
DJI may respond with a retention offer — a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “DJI stalls in 'Warehouse Processing' rather than cancelling before shipment”
You say: Email onlinesales@dji.com immediately quoting the order number and ask them to roll the package back; if it ships anyway, refuse delivery at the door — DJI's own policy accepts this as a valid return trigger.
They’ll say: “Offering DJI Credits or a partial store credit instead of cash refund on a price-drop claim”
You say: Insist on the original payment method — the return policy states refunds are 'based on the original payment method' and you are entitled to that within the 14-day window.
They’ll say: “Rejecting the return because packaging or an accessory is missing”
You say: Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations and EU Consumer Rights Directive the 14-day right of withdrawal cannot be voided by cosmetic packaging wear — reply citing statutory rights and escalate to your card issuer if refused.
They’ll say: “Delaying by asking for videos, serial photos, or DOA evidence loops”
You say: Send all requested evidence in one email, set a 14-day deadline for the refund and flag that you will file a Section 75 (UK) or chargeback claim if not resolved.
Your rights when cancelling
Consumer law varies by where you live. The strongest hook for your country is the one to lead with when you contact the company — pick the one that applies and quote it in your email.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires DJI to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up — same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
- Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act (ROSCA)Negative-option billing must be clearly disclosed.
Federal law (15 U.S.C. §8401) requires DJI to clearly disclose any negative-option / auto-renewal terms before charging. Buried terms = potential federal violation. Report to the FTC alongside any FTC complaint.
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of DJI’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If DJI’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. DJI must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
- Digital Content Directive (EU) 2019/770Refund rights for digital content failures.
Specific to digital subscriptions — gives you the right to a price reduction or contract termination when DJI’s digital service is not as advertised, with no time limit beyond the contract period.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes — “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; DJI has ~45 days to defend.
Common questions about cancelling DJI
If your order has **not shipped**, log in to your DJI account and cancel it from **My Orders** on the DJI Store. If it has already shipped, DJI will not let you cancel — you either refuse the package on delivery or accept it and open a return within 14 days of receipt by emailing `support.eu@dji.com` (EU) or `onlinesales@dji.com`. Include your order number, the reason and your bank details if you paid by transfer.
