Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi Coda Payments team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]

Coda Payments plans you can cancel
- Codapay (payment acceptance)
Merchant-side product priced from 1% per transaction, not a consumer subscription, there is nothing for a shopper to cancel; disputes are per-transaction.
- Coda Webstore
Charged to the publisher at 5% per transaction. If you bought a subscription inside a publisher's Coda-powered webstore, the recurring entitlement is controlled by that publisher, with Coda as merchant of record on the charge.
- Coda Distribution
Flat 15% per transaction to the publisher; consumer purchases land on Codashop, Recharge.com, Startselect and 150+ partner storefronts, so the refund route depends on which storefront billed you.
- Custom pricing
Negotiated merchant contract for businesses processing at least $100K USD per month via Coda; cancellation terms are contractual, not self-serve.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
For one-off Codashop/Codapay top-ups (game currency, diamonds, UC, CP, vouchers, gift codes) Coda only investigates refunds where the item was never delivered or arrived defective, and only if you raise it within 30 days of purchase, after that Coda states no refund or replacement is issued. Wrong-entry mistakes (wrong game ID, wrong server, wrong account, wrong email) are explicitly excluded, and once the publisher confirms the items were delivered Coda says it cannot cancel or reverse the transaction. For subscriptions or recurring entitlements bought inside a Coda-powered publisher webstore, Coda is only the merchant of record on the charge, you stop future billing with the publisher/app that owns the subscription, while Coda handles the billing-error refund. Merchant-side Codapay/Webstore/Distribution fees are contractual B2B rates and have no consumer refund window at all.
“If you have been charged for a transaction but did not receive your item, or you received a defective item, please contact Coda within 30 days from the date of your purchase through this form so that Coda can investigate your transaction.”

Does Coda Payments charge a cancellation fee?
Coda Payments’s terms mention conditions worth checking before you cancel, see the plan notes and policy quote above for the specifics we found. In general: rolling monthly plans end at the period you’ve already paid for with nothing extra to pay, while minimum-term or contract plans can carry an early-exit charge until the term ends.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Coda Payments
Based on 8 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Asking Coda to reverse a top-up you actually received, Policy states Codashop cannot cancel or refund transactions successfully made where the publisher confirmed the items were delivered successfully.
- ✕ Refund request for a wrong game ID, wrong server or wrong account, Policy says all purchased or shipped game items are final and refund requests for incorrect purchase transactions (e.g. wrong game ID) are not accepted; Coda also cannot move items between accounts.
- ✕ Claiming more than 30 days after the purchase date, Policy states claims brought beyond 30 days from the date of purchase will no longer be honored and no refund or replacement will be issued.
- ✕ Re-sending the same email report repeatedly to force a reply, Coda's own support article warns that continuous email reports get flagged as spam in their system and they then cannot help you.
- ✕ Emailing the codapayments.com sales/publisher-support routes about a consumer charge, The corporate contact page splits traffic between sales and existing publishers/merchants and pushes consumers to the Codashop consumer-platform support links instead.
- ✕ Trying to cancel a subscription with Coda rather than the publisher, Coda positions itself as Merchant of Record/payment facilitator and intermediary for publishers; it controls the charge, not the in-game or in-app entitlement, so it cannot switch off a publisher's recurring plan.
- ✕ Waiting for a phone call-back, Support is ticket-based through regional help centres rather than 24/7 live phone or chat; no consumer phone line is published on Coda's own pages.
Cancelled Coda Payments but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Coda Payments, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@coda.coreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Coda Payments’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- You're inside a minimum term. Some Coda Payments plans keep charging until a fixed term ends even after you cancel, check the plan notes above.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Coda Payments charges again.
How Coda Payments will try to keep you
Coda Payments may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “"The publisher confirmed delivery, so no refund is possible."”
You say: Ask them to attach the publisher's delivery confirmation and the transaction log for your order ID. If the item never landed on the account ID shown on the receipt, the policy's own undelivered-item clause applies, request a refund or, failing that, the replacement their policy also permits.
They’ll say: “Ticket sits in "under investigation" while the clock runs”
You say: Reply once, in writing: quote the 30-day claim window, state the date you first reported, and ask for a written outcome by a named date. Make clear the delay is theirs, not a lapse in your claim, and that you will pursue a card chargeback if no decision arrives.
They’ll say: “Replacement top-up or store credit offered instead of money back”
You say: Their policy lets Coda choose refund or replacement, say plainly you are declining a replacement because the underlying account/game is no longer in use, and ask for the refund to the original payment channel. Keep the original receipt and order ID in the thread.
They’ll say: “"Contact the game publisher, this is their product."”
You say: Coda markets itself as Merchant of Record and payment facilitator for the sale, so the payment contract is with Coda. Ask them to confirm in writing whether they were the merchant of record for that transaction, if yes, the billing-error and refund duty sits with them.
They’ll say: “Ticket auto-closed or answered by a bot/virtual assistant with no decision”
You say: Do not open a new ticket (their spam rule bites). Reply on the existing thread with order ID, amount, date, payment method and a one-line demand, and copy support.us@codapayments.com plus dpo@codapayments.com if you are also asking what data authorised the charge.
They’ll say: “Unrecognised or auto-debited charge blamed on your wallet/carrier provider”
You say: Complaint boards are full of wallet and carrier-billing debits users say they never authorised. Ask Coda for the merchant descriptor, the publisher, the game account ID topped up and the authorisation reference, then take that evidence to your card issuer, wallet or bank for an unauthorised-transaction claim.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Coda Payments has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Coda Payments’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Coda Payments’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Coda Payments must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Coda Payments account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Coda Payments’s account settings, email support@coda.co with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Coda Payments
Coda Payments Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore-based digital commerce company that acts as the payment processor and **merchant of record** for game top-ups and digital goods. The charge usually comes from a purchase on **Codashop**, Recharge.com, Startselect, a publisher webstore, or an in-game link-out, so the statement says Coda, not the game. Check your email for a receipt and check your game/app accounts for a recent top-up. Statement text can appear in mangled forms, so match by amount and date. If nothing matches, treat it as an unauthorised charge and raise it with Coda *and* your card issuer.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Coda Payments refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Coda Payments contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
