Timing matters: Free trial is 14 days from registration and auto-converts to a paid subscription; terminate it before day 14. On paid plans, time the cancellation to take effect at the renewal date, the terms say cancelling before the end of a term can make the entire remaining subscription fees payable immediately.

Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi Clipio team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]

Clipio plans you can cancel
- Starter$39.00/mo
$39/mo is the annually-billed rate shown on the pricing page (a monthly toggle exists but its price was not captured). Includes a 14-day free trial that auto-converts to paid.
- Pro Plan$99.00/mo
Marketed as 'Most Popular'; $99/mo billed annually, 14-day free trial, 5,000 contacts and 2 team members.
- Advanced$239.00/mo
$239/mo billed annually, 14-day free trial, 15,000 contacts and 5 team members.
- Custom Enterprise Plan
Quoted by sales with 'Custom Terms SLA', your cancellation and notice terms may be set in that contract rather than the public Terms of Service.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
Clipio sells recurring Starter/Pro/Advanced subscriptions (plus custom Enterprise deals), there are no one-off purchases apart from legacy lifetime deals. For those paid subscriptions the terms are blunt: cancelling stops renewal but refunds no past payment, and cancelling partway through a term can make the whole remaining balance payable immediately, so there is no stated refund window at all. The only pro-rata refund the terms contemplate is when Clipio itself terminates a user without cause, where it 'may' waive future charges or refund pre-paid amounts. The 14-day free trial is the one clean exit: terminate it inside the 14 days and the payment method is never billed, which is why most refund fights are really about a trial that silently converted.
“YOU MAY CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION AT ANY TIME, BUT YOU WILL NOT BE ENTITLED TO A REFUND FOR ANY PAST PAYMENTS OR FUTURE PAYMENTS DUE DURING THE REMAINDER OF YOUR CANCELED TERM. IF YOU CANCEL BEFORE THE END OF YOUR SUBSCRIPTION, YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE ENTIRE REMAINING SUBSCRIPTION FEES AT THAT TIME.”

Does Clipio charge a cancellation fee?
Clipio’s terms mention conditions worth checking before you cancel, see the plan notes and policy quote above for the specifics we found. In general: rolling monthly plans end at the period you’ve already paid for with nothing extra to pay, while minimum-term or contract plans can carry an early-exit charge until the term ends.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Clipio
Based on 6 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Letting the 14-day trial lapse and assuming nothing gets charged, The terms state the Trial Account is automatically converted to a paid Subscription at the end of the Trial Period using the card you registered with, inaction is consent to billing.
- ✕ Cancelling an annual plan mid-term to stop the remaining payments, Terms say if you cancel before the end of your subscription you will be charged the entire remaining subscription fees at that time, so early cancellation can accelerate the bill rather than reduce it.
- ✕ Asking for a pro-rata refund on the unused months, The no-refund clause covers past payments and future payments due in the remainder of the cancelled term; pro-rata refunds are only mentioned where Clipio terminates you without cause.
- ✕ Calling Clipio to cancel, No phone number appears on the homepage, pricing page, terms, privacy policy or in search results, there is no documented telephone cancellation route.
- ✕ Emailing the cancellation request from a different address than the account email, Both the trial-termination and subscription-cancellation clauses require the email to come from the address associated with your Account, which gives support grounds to ignore a mismatched sender.
- ✕ Sending the cancellation to support@useclipio.com and treating it as done, The terms designate support@useclipio.com as the legal notice address and support@clipio.com as the cancellation address; cc both, but send the cancel request to support@clipio.com.
- ✕ Cancelling through the Apple App Store or Google Play, Clipio is a browser-based B2B platform billed by card on its own site; there is no app-store subscription to switch off.
- ✕ Relying on a legacy lifetime deal (LTD) surviving indefinitely, Clipio's lifetime terms say LTDs are no longer offered and the new owner, GrowthNGN, LLC, may discontinue access for prior LTD purchasers at any time at its sole discretion.
Cancelled Clipio but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Clipio, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@clipio.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Clipio’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- You're inside a minimum term. Some Clipio plans keep charging until a fixed term ends even after you cancel, check the plan notes above.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Clipio charges again.
How Clipio will try to keep you
Clipio may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Quoting the 'entire remaining subscription fees' clause to argue you are locked in for the rest of the annual term and may as well keep using it.”
You say: I am not asking to break the term early. Treat this email as notice that the subscription must not auto-renew at the end of the current paid period, effective at that renewal date. Please confirm in writing that auto-renewal is off and that no further charge will be taken after the current term expires.
They’ll say: “Citing the blanket no-refund clause to refuse any money back on an unused or barely used period.”
You say: Your own terms allow a pro rata refund of pre-paid amounts, and they also commit you to notify me two days before a trial converts. I received no such notice, so the charge was not properly authorised. Please refund it to the original payment method within 14 days or I will raise a formal dispute with my card issuer.
They’ll say: “Converting the 14-day trial with only a short pre-conversion email that is easy to miss (terms promise notice two days before the end of the trial).”
You say: I registered on [date] and never received the two-day pre-conversion notice your terms promise. I did not intend to continue beyond the trial. Please cancel the subscription immediately and refund the conversion charge in full.
They’ll say: “Pointing to the mandatory arbitration and jury-trial waiver at the top of the terms to make escalation feel pointless.”
You say: The arbitration clause does not affect my right to dispute an unauthorised or mis-sold charge with my card issuer, or to contact the relevant consumer protection authority. I would rather resolve it directly: please cancel and refund, and I will close the matter.
They’ll say: “Steering you to a plan downgrade (Advanced → Pro → Starter) or extra AI credits instead of processing the cancellation.”
You say: I do not want a downgrade, a discount or additional credits. Please treat this email as an unambiguous cancellation request under your Trials, Subscriptions, Cancellations and Payments clause and reply with a cancellation confirmation and the final billing date.
They’ll say: “Account/ownership ambiguity, the service changed hands and Growth NGN LLC disclaims liability, including a right to close all accounts on 30 days' notice.”
You say: Whoever currently operates Clipio, my subscription is with the entity taking my payments. Please confirm which entity is billing me, cancel the subscription from the next renewal date, and send written confirmation to this address.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires Clipio to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Clipio has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Clipio’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Clipio’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Clipio must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Clipio account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Clipio’s account settings, email support@clipio.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Clipio
Treat it as cancelled only when you have it in writing. If Clipio hasn't sent a written confirmation, assume the cancellation didn't complete and email them referencing your original request date. Keep that confirmation, it's your evidence if a charge appears afterwards.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Clipio refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Clipio contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
