Bright Swimwear plans you can cancel
- Full-price swimwear order (bikini tops, bottoms, one-pieces)
This is a one-off purchase, not a subscription. Single bikini pieces cost about $30, $45 USD. You can only cancel by emailing hello@brightswimwear.com before the order is fulfilled. Orders are usually processed within 1 to 2 business days, and shipped orders can't be cancelled.
- Final Sale order (sale page, 30%+ discount, or sitewide sale)
You can still cancel by emailing hello@brightswimwear.com before fulfilment, the same as a full-price order.
- Bright E-Gift Card / store credit
All gift card sales are final.
- Bright Shipping Protection (checkout add-on)
This is an optional add-on bought at checkout.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
Swimwear and apparel orders: you can request a return or exchange by email within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unworn, with tags and hygiene stickers intact, and not marked Final Sale. Free returns give you store credit only. A refund to your card or PayPal is a rare, discretionary exception: they deduct 20% and you pay tracked return shipping. Unshipped orders are different: if you cancel by email before fulfilment, you get a full refund. Gift cards, shipping fees, Shipping Protection fees and customs duties are never refunded. Faulty or wrong items should be reported straight away with photos.
“We do not offer returns for refunds to the original modes of payment. Only in exceptional circumstances and at Bright Swimwear’s sole discretion may it be considered, and if approved, the following conditions will apply: A 20% fee will be deducted from the total refund amount.”

Does Bright Swimwear charge a cancellation fee?
Bright Swimwear’s terms mention conditions worth checking before you cancel, see the plan notes and policy quote above for the specifics we found. In general: rolling monthly plans end at the period you’ve already paid for with nothing extra to pay, while minimum-term or contract plans can carry an early-exit charge until the term ends.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Bright Swimwear
Based on 5 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Emailing hello@brightswimear.com, the address shown on Bright's FAQ for wrong, incomplete or defective items, The domain is misspelled: it's missing the 'w' in 'swimwear'. Bright's contact page says the team only replies from @brightswimwear.com addresses. Send these reports to hello@brightswimwear.com instead.
- ✕ Asking to cancel an order after it has been fulfilled or shipped, Bright's FAQ says fulfilled or shipped orders can no longer be cancelled, and orders are usually processed within 1 to 2 business days. After that, the only route is a return within 30 days of delivery.
- ✕ Asking for a card refund after you've already had an exchange, The policy says that once an exchange has been completed and delivered, the order can't be exchanged again or refunded to your original payment method.
- ✕ Using a 'returns portal' or prepaid label from brightswimwear.shop, This is a lookalike domain, not the official brightswimwear.com site, and its policy is different. Official returns start by emailing hello@brightswimwear.com, and Bright doesn't provide free return labels for card refunds.
- ✕ Returning items bought from ASOS, Macy's, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's or PacSun directly to Bright, Bright says it can't process returns or exchanges for orders placed through other retailers. Go back to the store you bought from.
- ✕ Asking Bright to refund customs duties, taxes or shipping fees, The FAQ says Bright won't refund duties or taxes, and that all shipping fees are non-refundable, including Shipping Protection.
- ✕ Asking for a refund on a gift card or store credit, The gift card page says all gift card sales are final and that returns, exchanges and refunds aren't available.
- ✕ Asking for a discount code to be applied to an order you've already placed, The FAQ says codes can't be applied retroactively. They can only be used on your next order.
Cancelled Bright Swimwear but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Bright Swimwear, treat it as not cancelled. Email
hello@brightswimwear.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Bright Swimwear’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Bright Swimwear charges again.
How Bright Swimwear will try to keep you
Bright Swimwear may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Offering store credit only instead of a refund (official policy, confirmed by several Trustpilot reviewers)”
You say: I'm asking for a refund to my original payment method, not store credit. The item is unworn, the tags and hygiene seal are intact, and I'm within the return period. Where my local law gives me a right to withdraw from a distance purchase, that right means the money comes back to me, and a store policy can't override it. Please confirm the refund and send return instructions.
They’ll say: “Applying the hygiene exception to all swimwear (Bright cites Article 16(e) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive; a Belgian Trustpilot reviewer was told swimwear is excluded outright)”
You say: Article 16(e) only covers sealed goods that were unsealed after delivery. My hygiene sticker and seal are still intact, so the exception doesn't apply. I'm using my right of withdrawal, and I'm asking for a full refund to my original payment method.
They’ll say: “Deducting 20% and making you pay return shipping before agreeing to a card refund (official 'exceptional circumstances' terms; a Trustpilot reviewer was told the same)”
You say: I don't accept a 20% deduction. If this is a statutory withdrawal, the full price must be refunded, including standard outbound delivery. The only cost I can be charged is return postage, and only if I was told about it beforehand. Please refund the full amount.
They’ll say: “Calling a sitewide sale order 'Final Sale' to block returns and exchanges (several Trustpilot reports say this wasn't shown at checkout or on the order confirmation)”
You say: Please tell me where Final Sale status was shown during checkout and on my order confirmation for order #[number], because I didn't see it. Statutory withdrawal rights, where they apply, still cover sale items. Please process my return for a refund.
They’ll say: “Offering partial store credit (for example 50%) as a 'goodwill' gesture instead of a full refund (Trustpilot reports from EU customers)”
You say: Thanks, but I'm declining the partial credit offer. I'm asking for a full refund of £/€/$[amount] to my original payment method. If we can't agree, I'll raise it with my card issuer or PayPal and with the consumer authority in my country.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Bright Swimwear has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Bright Swimwear’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Bright Swimwear’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Bright Swimwear must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Bright Swimwear account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Bright Swimwear’s account settings, email hello@brightswimwear.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Bright Swimwear
Bright Swimwear has no online cancel button. Email **hello@brightswimwear.com** as soon as possible with your order number and a subject like *"Cancel order #12345, not yet fulfilled"*. If the order hasn't been fulfilled, Bright says it will cancel and refund it right away. Orders are usually processed within 1 to 2 business days, though, and once an order is fulfilled or shipped it can't be cancelled. Then your only option is a return after delivery, which gives store credit. The team works Monday to Friday and aims to reply within 24 business hours, so orders placed on a Friday evening are the riskiest.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Bright Swimwear refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Bright Swimwear contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
