Timing matters: Cancel before the application is filed to the government/embassy, that stage is a 100% refund; after filing the government fee is non-refundable. Separately, any application with documents outstanding for 90 continuous days is auto-cancelled with no refund, and failing to reply to Atlys within 24 hours of a request entitles Atlys to cancel the application.

What happens to what you’ve already paid
Atlys sells one-off visa applications, not a subscription, so there is nothing recurring to cancel, only an in-flight application to withdraw. Refund eligibility is stage-based: if you cancel while the application is still with Atlys and has not been filed to the government, the published policy is a 100% refund (Atlys states this can be issued as Atlys credits), while partial refunds may apply once work has started but before embassy submission. Once the application is submitted to the embassy, the government fee is gone and the Atlys terms say fees are non-refundable for any reason except where AtlysProtect applies, AtlysProtect refunds 100% on an eligible-route rejection and waives the Atlys service fee on late delivery. Separately, if you leave requested documents outstanding for 90 continuous days the application is auto-cancelled with no refund of either fee.
“Atlys will not refund the Visa fees or the Atlys fees for any reason whatsoever, except in cases which are covered under Atlys Protect as displayed at the time of application.”

Does Atlys charge a cancellation fee?
Atlys’s terms mention conditions worth checking before you cancel, see the plan notes and policy quote above for the specifics we found. In general: rolling monthly plans end at the period you’ve already paid for with nothing extra to pay, while minimum-term or contract plans can carry an early-exit charge until the term ends.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Atlys
Based on 6 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Asking for a refund after the application has been filed to the embassy, Terms clause 5.3 says Atlys will not refund visa fees or Atlys fees 'for any reason whatsoever' outside AtlysProtect, and the refunds page says post-submission cancellation does not qualify because government fees are already paid.
- ✕ Calling a general customer-service phone line, Consumer directories report Atlys does not offer general phone support and routes everything to email or the in-app support form; the published +1 607-208-2132 line is explicitly for emergency/time-critical visa cases only and excludes standard tracking and general inquiries.
- ✕ Ignoring an Atlys document request and letting the application lapse, Terms clause 5.5: if requested documents stay pending for 90 continuous days the application is deemed automatically cancelled with no refund of the Atlys service fee or the visa fee.
- ✕ Quoting the marketing 'on-time guarantee' / 'visa fee refunded' banner as your only basis, Reporting and reviews describe the terms page contradicting destination-page refund promises, with refunds denied on the strength of the small print; you need the stage-based refunds policy or AtlysProtect eligibility, not the ad copy.
- ✕ Assuming a pre-submission cancellation refund arrives as cash automatically, The refunds page states pre-submission cancellations are refunded '100% in the form of Atlys credits' in some cases, while other Atlys pages say refunds go to the original payment method, you have to ask explicitly for the original method.
- ✕ Asking front-line chat to escalate you to a senior manager, A Trustpilot reviewer reports Atlys told them they could not be put through to a senior manager, and multiple reviewers describe being passed between teams and WhatsApp groups without resolution.
Cancelled Atlys but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Atlys, treat it as not cancelled. Email
help@atlys.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Atlys’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Atlys charges again.
How Atlys will try to keep you
Atlys may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Refunding the cancelled application as Atlys credits/wallet balance rather than money back to your card”
You say: Reply in the same thread: 'I am not accepting Atlys credits. Your own refunds policy states refunds are issued to the original payment method, credit card, debit card, UPI, net banking or wallet. Please remit to the card ending [XXXX] and confirm the reference number.'
They’ll say: “Waiving only the Atlys service fee when delivery is late, while keeping the government fee”
You say: 'AtlysProtect states the service fee is waived for late delivery and a 100% refund applies on rejection. My route was [X] and the outcome was [rejection/late delivery], confirm in writing which limb you are applying and the exact amount, itemised as government fee vs Atlys fee.'
They’ll say: “Bouncing you between WhatsApp groups, callbacks and different teams so no single ticket owns the refund”
You say: 'Please keep all further contact on this email thread only. I am not accepting WhatsApp or phone callbacks for this dispute. Give me one ticket ID and an owner, and confirm the refund decision in writing within 48 hours per your published response time.'
They’ll say: “Front line saying no senior manager or escalation is available”
You say: 'Escalating this to review-escalations@atlys.com and to your Grievance Redressal Officer. Ticket ID [X], application ID [Y]. If no written decision follows within 15 days I will raise a card chargeback for services not rendered.'
They’ll say: “Silence until the complaint becomes public, reviewers report cases stuck for weeks moving within minutes after a public post”
You say: 'This is my final email before I post a factual, dated account of this application to Trustpilot and the app stores and open a payment dispute. I would rather resolve it here, please confirm the refund amount and date.'
They’ll say: “Auto-cancelling stalled applications at 90 days with zero refund”
You say: 'I am formally cancelling today, before the 90-day auto-cancellation in clause 5.5 applies, and while the application has not been filed to the government. Under your published stage-based policy that is a 100% refund. Please process it now.'
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Atlys has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Atlys’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Atlys’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Atlys must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Atlys account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Atlys’s account settings, email help@atlys.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Atlys
For everyday cancellations and refunds, Atlys is effectively an **email and in-app** company. Consumer directories report there's no general customer-service phone line and that all inquiries go to email or the support form, with replies quoted at 2 to 3 working days; Atlys's own contact page promises a response within 48 hours. The published **+1 607-208-2132** line is the Emergency Visa Helpline and is explicitly *not* for status tracking, general questions or routine changes. Use `help@atlys.com` for support and `review-escalations@atlys.com` when a case stalls.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Atlys refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Atlys contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
