The fastest way
ARCO doesn't sell a paid subscription, so the thing people usually want to close is ARCO Rewards. To close it, delete your account in the app or at app.marathonrewards.com/delete-account, or email support@marathonrewards.com with the subject 'Close my ARCO Rewards account, [phone number]'. Use your rewards first because you lose them when the account closes. We don't know how long confirmation takes.
Or let yoink do it for you.

Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi Arco team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. If your policy allows it, I'd also appreciate a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of the current period. Best, [your name]

Arco plans you can cancel
- ARCO Rewards (Marathon ARCO Rewards)$0.00/mo
This loyalty program is free. You may terminate your Marathon ARCO Rewards account at any time. You may deactivate your account through the Marathon ARCO Rewards app or online at https://app.marathonrewards.com/delete-account.
- ARCO Business Solutions Fuel Card
This contract has no fixed term. You can stop using the program at any time with notice to us and no closing fees. Any outstanding balance must be paid. The card is issued by FLEETCOR/Corpay, not by ARCO directly.
- ARCO Business Solutions Mastercard
You may terminate your Account for any reason by calling customer service or by providing written notice of the termination to us. The card is issued by Fifth Third Bank and the program is run by Corpay.
- ARCO PumpPASS prepaid card
This is a one-off prepaid gift card, not a subscription. The card is not reloadable and requires purchase of a new one to continue refuelling.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
ARCO has no subscription, so there is no subscription refund window. Fuel and in-store purchases are one-off charges. ARCO's official position on pay-at-pump pre-authorization holds is that your bank places and releases them, not the station. Holds usually clear by themselves within a few days. If a hold settles for more than you pumped, or you were charged and got no fuel, ask the station and Marathon customer relations for a refund, and dispute it with your card issuer if they refuse. ARCO Rewards is free, so closing it just forfeits your rewards. PumpPASS gift cards can't be cashed out except where the law requires it. Fleet card disputes have to be made in writing within 15 days of the statement.
“Your financial institution may hold funds that exceed your purchase amount when using your payment card. ARCO stations are not responsible for placing or removing pending holds. Please contact your financial institution if the charge is posted to your account.”

Does Arco charge a cancellation fee?
Arco’s terms mention conditions worth checking before you cancel, see the plan notes and policy quote above for the specifics we found. In general: rolling monthly plans end at the period you’ve already paid for with nothing extra to pay, while minimum-term or contract plans can carry an early-exit charge until the term ends.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Arco
Based on 10 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Asking the ARCO station to release a pending pump hold, ARCO's own contact page says ARCO stations are not responsible for placing or removing pending holds. Contact your bank instead.
- ✕ Looking for a cancellation or terms page on arco.com, arco.com/cancel and arco.com/terms both return 'page not found' errors. The cancellation terms for Rewards are on marathonarcorewards.com, and fleet card terms are on arcobusinesssolutions.com.
- ✕ Calling 1-800-322-2726 expecting to reach a live agent, A consumer complaint site lists this number as IVR / Automated System Only (No Human Option). For Rewards problems, the 855-920-3988 Rewards line is staffed.
- ✕ Getting the station manager to refund a misfire or shortfall on the spot, A BBB complainant who paid but got no fuel said the store manager refused to give me a refund and then never followed up.
- ✕ Cashing out a PumpPASS prepaid card balance, Under the card terms, it is not redeemable for cash (except as required by law)
Cancelled Arco but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Arco, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@marathonrewards.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Arco’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- You're inside a minimum term. Some Arco plans keep charging until a fixed term ends even after you cancel, check the plan notes above.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Arco charges again.
How Arco will try to keep you
Arco may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “The station stalls a pump-fault refund by saying a technician will check the pump and they'll call you back”
You say: One BBB complainant said the manager said he'd contact me when the technician comes and of course, never contacted me. Don't wait. Email Marathon customer relations with your receipt, the pump number, the time, and photos. If they don't fix it, dispute the charge with your card issuer.
They’ll say: “The station says the hold is just 'how our system works' and keeps the money”
You say: One Bogleheads user was charged $200 for $100 of fuel and was told this is how their system works. If the hold settles for more than you actually bought, ask for the difference back in writing, then file a chargeback.
They’ll say: “Unused rewards are forfeited when you close your account”
You say: The terms say You will lose any outstanding Marathon ARCO Rewards or vouchers. Redeem your balance at the pump before you delete the account.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Arco has ~45 days to defend.
Delete your Arco account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Arco’s account settings, email support@marathonrewards.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Arco
ARCO Rewards is run by Marathon Petroleum as **Marathon ARCO Rewards**. You can also contact Marathon ARCO Rewards Support at support@marathonrewards.com or 1-855-920-3988 for assistance terminating your account. If you email, include the mobile number on the account, since that's how support finds you. Keep any confirmation as proof.
