The fastest way
Cancel Vueling in the 'My trips' section on vueling.com or the app up to 2 hours before departure, but only Fly Grande or Flex Pack bookings cancel free, refunded as Flight Credit (valid 18 months), not cash. Basic fares are non-refundable. Justified-reason refunds go through the Customer Service Centre.
Or let yoink do it for you.

- Phone: Call +34 93 151 8158 and say “cancel my service”. Expect a retention pitch, decline it twice and hold firm.
- Online (fastest): Direct cancel flow: www.vueling.com/en/manage-your-booking
- Email: Vueling doesn’t process cancellations by email. Still worth sending one: it dates your cancellation request in writing, which matters for disputes and refunds.
Timing matters: Free cancellation for Flight Credit (Fly Grande / Flex Pack) only up to 2 hours before departure. 'Justified reason' cash refunds must be requested within 30 days after the flight. Free changes only within 24 hours of booking.
The email that backs it up
Vueling won’t action a cancellation from an email alone, use the fastest channel above for the cancellation itself. This email still earns its place: it puts your cancellation date in writing (your evidence if they keep billing) and it’s where the refund request happens.

Vueling’s refund policy
If Vueling cancels your flight, you're entitled to a full cash refund to your original payment method within about 7 days (or a free rebooking), you cannot be forced to take a voucher. If YOU cancel, the outcome depends on fare: Basic is non-refundable, and most fares return money only as Flight Credit (valid 18 months), not cash, unless you added Flex Pack or booked Fly Grande. Cash refunds for personal cancellations are limited to 'justified reasons' (illness, isolation, pregnancy, death, court/polling duty) requested via the Customer Service Centre up to 30 days after the flight.
“In all cases of cancellation, you can choose one of the following options: Full ticket price refund within max 7 days of application via the booked payment method for the untaken flight(s) and the taken flight(s) if the flight no longer fits the original travel plan”

Does Vueling charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Vueling’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide. If you signed up online within the last 14 days, the EU Consumer Rights Directive gives you a cooling-off right to walk away, fee-free, for most digital subscriptions.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Vueling
Based on 3 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Expecting a cash refund on a Basic fare, Basic fares are low-cost, non-refundable and non-changeable; voluntary cancellation returns nothing unless Flex Pack was added.
- ✕ Emailing contactus@vueling.com to cancel a flight, Cancellation is processed through 'My trips' online/app or the Customer Service Centre; email is a paper-trail/complaint channel, not a cancel flow.
- ✕ Assuming a voluntary cancellation gives cash back, Vueling returns voluntarily cancelled bookings as Flight Credit (an 18-month voucher), not money to your card, unless Vueling itself cancelled the flight.
- ✕ Cancelling a single passenger or one leg of a booking, Vueling states it's not possible to cancel the flight of only one passenger or a single journey; Flight Credit cancellation applies to the whole booking.
- ✕ Cancelling within the last 2 hours before departure, Flight Credit cancellation in 'My trips' is only available up to 2 hours before departure.
Cancelled Vueling but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Vueling, treat it as not cancelled. Email
mobile.support@vueling.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Vueling’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Vueling charges again.
How Vueling will try to keep you
Vueling may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Vueling steers you toward Flight Credit (a virtual moneybox voucher) instead of a cash refund.”
You say: If VUELING cancelled or significantly changed your flight, you have the legal right to a cash refund to your original payment method, Vueling is not allowed to force a travel voucher on you. Insist on the monetary refund in writing and cite EU261/UK261.
They’ll say: “Front-line customer service and chat can be slow and hard to reach, pushing you to give up and keep the credit.”
You say: Create a written paper trail via contactus@vueling.com and the online complaints form, quoting your booking code and a clear 7-day refund deadline. If ignored, escalate to Vueling's executive/customer-relations team and, for UK flights, to the CAA or an ADR/ombudsman scheme; EU departures can use the relevant national enforcement body.
They’ll say: “'Justified reason' refunds require documentary evidence (doctor's note, court summons), which deters claims.”
You say: You have up to 30 days after the flight to request a justified-reason refund via the Customer Service Centre, gather the doctor's note, isolation notice or court/polling summons and submit it promptly; these are explicitly accepted grounds.
They’ll say: “Section 75 / chargeback is overlooked when Vueling stalls a refund owed.”
You say: If you paid by UK credit card and Vueling fails to refund a flight it cancelled, you can claim under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act; debit-card or sub-£100 payments may qualify for a chargeback.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Vueling must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Vueling has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Vueling’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Vueling’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
Delete your Vueling account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Vueling’s account settings, email mobile.support@vueling.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under GDPR Article 17, the right to erasure. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Vueling
Vueling allows **fee-free changes** within 24 hours of booking, and free cancellation within 24 hours is generally available **only if your flight is more than 7 days away** and you booked directly. Note the 24-hour window mainly covers changing the date/time or fixing a name, it doesn't guarantee a cash refund on a Basic fare. Promotional and Basic fares remain largely non-refundable, so check your specific fare's terms before relying on the 24-hour rule.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Vueling refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Vueling contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
