Refund requests must be made in writing within 14 days of delivery. Commas seller-platform subscriptions need 30 days' written notice before the term ends.

Cancellation Request, [your account email]Send this template
Hi Commas team, I'm writing to cancel the subscription on my account, [your account email]. Please treat this as formal notice of cancellation, effective from the end of the current billing period. Under the FTC's Click-to-Cancel rule, cancellation must be available through a channel as simple as the one I signed up through. Please confirm by reply that the subscription has been cancelled and that no further charges will be taken. Best, [your name]
Wait for confirmation
Wait 24 hours. If there's no response, send a polite one-line follow-up referencing the original request.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
These rules are for buyers who were charged as COMMAS.COM, COMMAS, FANBASIS.COM or FANBASIS after buying a creator's course, coaching, membership or digital product. Commas, not the creator, is the merchant and handles refunds. If an order wasn't delivered, isn't as described or wasn't authorized, ask in writing within 14 days of delivery. Commas reviews the request with the creator and sends approved refunds to the original payment method, reportedly in 5 to 10 business days. Subscription renewals already paid before you cancel are non-refundable unless the law requires otherwise, and there is no pro-rata refund. Purchases financed through BNPL (e.g. Affirm) can face a lender refund cutoff of about 120 days. Seller accounts on Commas' own platform have no refunds for partial use.
“Refund requests must be submitted in writing to support@fanbasis.com within fourteen (14) days of delivery or expected delivery.”

Does Commas charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Commas’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Commas
Based on 7 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Asking only the creator/seller for a cancellation or refund, The Commas terms say sellers have no independent authority to bill or refund buyers, and that the purchase contract is between you and Commas. Send the request to Commas support in writing. You can copy the seller in.
- ✕ Cancelling or requesting a refund by phone only, Commas says email is best for refunds and cancellations because they need to be in writing. Reviewers say phone agents promised confirmation emails that never arrived, and some report the number didn't work.
- ✕ Waiting weeks or months before asking for a refund, Under the terms, buyer refund requests must be made within 14 days of delivery. Commas has refused BBB complaints filed long after purchase because nobody contacted support first, and it cites the 120-day refund window Affirm enforces on financed purchases.
- ✕ Relying on the seller's advertised '30-day' or '60-day money-back guarantee', Several Trustpilot reviewers say creator-advertised 30- and 60-day guarantees were not honoured. Commas applies its own terms and says its refund decisions are final.
- ✕ Cancelling through Apple App Store or Google Play subscriptions, Commas purchases are made on web checkouts and billed directly by Commas, so they don't appear in app-store subscription lists. Users who searched Google Play couldn't find them.
Cancelled Commas but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Commas, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@commas.comreferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Commas’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Commas charges again.
How Commas will try to keep you
Commas may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Deflecting you to the creator ('contact the seller, we just process payments')”
You say: Under Section 17.6 of your Terms, FanBasis, Inc. d/b/a Commas is the merchant for this purchase, and my contract is with Commas, not the seller. Please process this cancellation/refund directly.
They’ll say: “Letting the email thread drag on until the 14-day refund window has 'expired'”
You say: I first asked for this refund in writing on [DATE], inside the 14-day window in Section 17.16. Any delay since then is on your side, and my request is still timely.
They’ll say: “Refusing because 'refund decisions by Commas are final' even when the product wasn't delivered as described”
You say: Section 17.16 (Buyer Protection) covers offerings that weren't delivered or differ materially from their description. Here is my evidence: [LIST]. If you won't refund, I will dispute the charge with my card issuer.
They’ll say: “Saying a refund was 'processed' when no credit appears on the card”
You say: No refund has reached my account. Please send the refund receipt with the amount, issue date, payment method and the acquirer reference number (ARN) so my bank can trace it.
They’ll say: “A phone agent promising that a cancellation or refund confirmation email will follow (and it never arrives)”
You say: As your billing page asks, I'm confirming in writing: please cancel [ORDER] and reply with written confirmation of the cancellation and the refund amount.
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
United States
- FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule (2024+)Cancel must be as easy as sign-up.
The Federal Trade Commission’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires Commas to make cancelling at least as simple as signing up, same channel, same number of clicks. If they buried the cancel button or forced a phone call, they’re in violation; report to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- California ARL (auto-renewal law)Renewal must be cancellable online.
California Business & Professions Code §17602 forces any company billing California residents on auto-renewal to provide an online cancel mechanism. Lawsuits have been won on this; companies often refund quickly when it’s cited.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Commas has ~45 days to defend.
Rights in other regions (United Kingdom, European Union)
United Kingdom
- Consumer Contracts Regulations 201314-day cooling-off on new subscriptions.
You can terminate any continuous service contract within 14 days of starting it and recover any payment, no questions asked. Applies regardless of Commas’s own policy.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015Services must be as described.
If Commas’s service was misrepresented or didn’t deliver what was promised, you have a statutory right to remedy (repair, refund, or price reduction) regardless of their terms.
European Union
- Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU14-day right of withdrawal across all EU states.
EU-wide statutory right to withdraw from any distance-sold contract within 14 days. Mirrored into local law in every member state. Commas must honour it regardless of where they’re headquartered.
Delete your Commas account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Commas’s account settings, email support@commas.com with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under state privacy laws such as the CCPA. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Commas
Commas bills creator subscriptions as merchant of record, so you cancel with **Commas**, not the creator. There are three ways: 1. Click the **order link in your Commas receipt email**. 2. Sign in, open **My Purchases → Active**, click the three-dot menu and choose **Cancel subscription**. 3. Email **support@commas.com** (or support@fanbasis.com) and ask them to cancel for you. Cancel **at least 24 hours before your next billing date**, or you may be charged once more. Email gives you a written record.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Commas refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Commas contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
