The fastest way
Withdraw your balance first. Then close Betty yourself under Account > My Profile > Close Account, or email support@betty.ca with the subject 'Account closure request, [username]'. You can also use the 24/7 live chat. Betty will reopen a closed account if you ask, so get the closure confirmed in writing. For a longer block, use Self Exclusion (6 months to 5 years).

Betty plans you can cancel
- Betty real-money casino account (Ontario)
Betty has no subscription and no recurring charge. It's a pay-as-you-play online casino, licensed by the AGCO and run under iGaming Ontario for players in Ontario aged 19+. 'Cancelling' means closing your account (Account > My Profile > Close Account, or ask support), taking a Timeout, or self-excluding. Withdraw your balance before you close the account.
What happens to what you’ve already paid
Wagers (bets on casino games): Betty treats them as used up the moment you play, so you can't get a refund on a bet once it's placed. Account balance (unplayed deposits plus winnings): you take this out as a withdrawal, not a refund. Betty pays it to the method you deposited with where possible. If you deposited by credit or debit card, Betty may refuse withdrawal requests for 14 days after that deposit, and withdrawals can be held for verification or security reviews. Failed Interac deposits: the processor (Wyzia) refunds these within 1-3 business days. If yours hasn't arrived after 3 business days, send support your Interac reference number. Disputes over winnings, losses or promotions must be sent in writing to complaints@betty.ca.
“6.13 You acknowledge that all of our services are consumed instantly when playing.”

Does Betty charge a cancellation fee?
We found no cancellation fee in Betty’s published terms. On a rolling plan you simply pay to the end of the current billing period and nothing after. If you’re inside a fixed minimum term, check your signup email for the end date, cancelling early is where fees usually hide.
What doesn’t work for cancelling Betty
Based on 4 sources, Reddit, app reviews, and direct testing. Skip these and save yourself the loop.
- ✕ Asking live chat to refund a deposit you've already played with, or to 'reverse' the deposit, The terms say play is consumed instantly, so bets can't be refunded. One player on a forum said an agent told him they 'can't refund the transaction' even for a $20 Interac deposit. Ask for a withdrawal of your remaining balance instead.
- ✕ Withdrawing to a bank account that isn't in your own name, Betty pays withdrawals back to the deposit method and asks for proof that you own any other account. A player who deposited from his wife's Interac account said his withdrawals kept failing and support wouldn't escalate.
- ✕ Asking for a card withdrawal right after a card deposit, The terms let Betty refuse any withdrawal request within 14 days of a credit or debit card deposit.
- ✕ Filing a chargeback with your bank instead of raising a complaint, The terms let Betty deduct or forfeit balances linked to transactions your bank reverses or rejects, including charge-backs. You could lose access to the rest of your balance. Use the written complaints process first.
- ✕ Expecting your account to reopen by itself when a self-exclusion ends, Betty's FAQ says the account won't reopen automatically after the exclusion period. You have to send support a written request.
- ✕ Calling a general customer-service phone line, Reviewers say Betty has no general phone support. The only phone number on betty.ca is the Compliance Officer's line for privacy issues (weekdays only). Use live chat, email or the in-account Close Account option.
- ✕ Asking support for a bonus to make up for a bad experience, Betty's FAQ says it doesn't give bonuses through support requests. Bonuses only come from automated offers such as the Daily Wheel, Quests and Deposit Promos.
Cancelled Betty but still being charged?
Three common reasons, in order of likelihood:
- The cancellation didn’t actually complete. If you never received a written confirmation from Betty, treat it as not cancelled. Email
support@betty.careferencing your original request date and ask for written confirmation plus a refund of any charge taken since. - You cancelled in the wrong place. Subscriptions started through the App Store or Google Play bill through Apple or Google, cancelling on Betty’s site doesn’t touch them. Check Settings → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android.
- Billing lag. A charge that was already in flight when you cancelled can still land a few days later. One trailing charge can be normal; two is not.
If they keep charging after a confirmed cancellation, that’s chargeback territory: dispute the charge with your bank citing “subscription cancelled, merchant continued billing”. The yoink app also flags this automatically, it keeps watching your inbox after a confirmed cancellation and alerts you if Betty charges again.
How Betty will try to keep you
Betty may respond with a retention offer, a discount, a free month, or a downgrade to a cheaper tier. Don't engage with the counteroffer. Restate that you want a full cancellation and cite the consumer law again if they push back.
They’ll say: “Closures can be undone. Betty's FAQ says closed accounts can be reopened by contacting support, and that support will 'discuss your options', so a closure request can turn into a conversation about staying.”
You say: Please close my account permanently today. I don't want to discuss alternatives or be offered anything to reopen it. Please confirm the closure in writing and confirm my remaining balance of $[amount] has been withdrawn to my original payment method.
They’ll say: “Holding withdrawals for 'authorizations and verifications' or security reviews. Terms sections 3.6 and 11.2 allow this, and complaint sites list delayed withdrawals and confiscated funds.”
You say: I've completed identity verification and requested a withdrawal of $[amount] on [date]. Please tell me in writing exactly which documents or checks are still outstanding and the date the payment will be sent. If it hasn't been paid within 14 days, please treat this email as a formal written complaint under Section 30 of your Terms of Service.
They’ll say: “Live chat repeats scripted answers and won't escalate. A forum complaint says the agent 'kept repeating the same scripted line' with no escalation.”
You say: Please escalate this to your complaints team. I'm making a formal written complaint under Section 30 of your Terms (copied to complaints@betty.ca). Please give me a reference number and a resolution date. If it isn't resolved, I'll take it to iGaming Ontario's player dispute process.
They’ll say: “Daily rewards that pull you back in. Betty's FAQ lists the Daily Wheel, Daily Gift, Quests, Level Rewards, the Betty Shop and Status Rewards, and free spins that expire in 24 to 72 hours to create urgency.”
You say: Please close my account and remove me from all marketing emails, texts and push notifications. Please don't send any further bonus, free-spin or reward offers. (Self-exclusion also removes you from all marketing automatically.)
Your rights when cancelling
The law where you live is the strongest hook, lead with it when you contact the company.
Worldwide
- Card-issuer chargebackYour bank can reverse the charge.
Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all run chargeback schemes, “goods/services not as described” or “subscription not cancelled” are valid reason codes everywhere they operate. Your bank handles the dispute; Betty has ~45 days to defend.
Delete your Betty account (not just cancel)
Cancelling stops the billing; deleting removes your account and personal data. Do them in that order, deleting an account with an active subscription can leave the billing running with no way to log in and stop it.
If there’s no delete option in Betty’s account settings, email support@betty.ca with the subject Account deletion request, [your account email] and ask for your account and personal data to be erased under data-protection law in most jurisdictions. They’re typically required to act on it, most companies complete erasure within about 30 days, and you should ask for written confirmation when it’s done.
Common questions about cancelling Betty
Log in and go to **Account > My Profile > Close Account**. You can also ask support to close it via 24/7 live chat or by emailing **support@betty.ca**. **Withdraw your balance first.** Betty pays withdrawals back to the method you deposited with, and card deposits can face a 14-day withdrawal hold. Closing isn't permanent: Betty says you can reopen by contacting customer service, so ask for written confirmation that it's closed. If you want a guaranteed block, use **Self Exclusion** instead. Betty has no subscription, so closing doesn't stop any recurring charge. There isn't one.
Money-back questions (windows, pro-rata, chargebacks) are covered in the Betty refund guide. Need a human for something else entirely? The Betty contact guide lists every channel that actually answers.
