How to Get a Washnet Refund After a Failed Wash.
Washnet refunds are per-order, and their own policy gives you a 1-day window. Miss it and you still have tools, a clear email, a card-issuer chargeback. Here's the playbook.

The short answer
Washnet sells one-off laundry charges (per wash/dry, paid from a topped-up wallet) plus prepaid cards and optional bulk-credit membership schemes, there is no monthly subscription. For a per-cycle charge where the machine took your money and didn't start, the rule is a 24-hour reporting window and the money comes back as Washnet wallet credit, not to your card; in office hours they'd rather start the machine remotely than refund, and out of hours you're told to pay again and claim the failed start afterwards. For damaged garments, the same 24-hour clock applies and you must supply photos, care labels and the machine number; if the machine is found at fault they may pay out in free laundry instead of cash, and claims involving footwear, bleach, dye, mopheads, pillows, duvets or laundry bags/nets are refused outright. For physical Laundry/Membership Cards there is a separate 90-day returns window that applies only to unused cards with proof of purchase, while PinMate stored balances are officially non-refundable, reviewed case by case, with a £5 minimum and nothing older than 12 months.

“Failed payments must be reported to us within 24 hours of the transaction taking place for us to process a refund to your washnet wallet.”
, verbatim from Washnet’s terms
How long does a Washnet refund take?
Most merchants agree to a straightforward refund within 1 to 3 working days of a well-written email request. Once agreed, the money itself takes another 3 to 5 working days to land, that part is card-network processing and no merchant can skip it. If nothing has arrived 10 working days after a written “refund approved”, reply on the same thread asking for the ARN (acquirer reference number), which your bank can trace.
Note Washnet’s own policy works on a 1-day window, ask inside it and the request is routine; outside it you’re relying on goodwill or statutory rights.

Refund FAQ for Washnet
There's no subscription and no cancel button in the app, Washnet is a pay-as-you-go laundry wallet run by Washstation Ltd, so nothing renews. To close the account and stop using it, email **service@washstation.co.uk** from the address on the account with the subject *"Washnet account closure + wallet balance refund request"*, and include your name, hall/site, account email and the residual balance. Ask for the balance to be returned to the original payment method. If you're on the older PinMate card system instead of the app, hand the card back at your hall reception and email the card number to the same address.
