How to Get an Iberia Refund, Not a Voucher.
Inside 1 days their own policy is on your side; statutory cooling-off rights may stack on top. Outside it, you've still got tools, a clear email, a card-issuer chargeback, the lot. Here's the playbook for Iberia.

The short answer
Flight tickets bought directly on iberia.com, the app or the call centre can be cancelled free of charge within 24 hours of an immediate-payment purchase through Manage your booking; after 24 hours whether anything comes back depends purely on your fare family, with Basic/Classic generally non-refundable and Flexible/Business Flex refundable. Involuntary cases are different: if Iberia cancels or heavily reschedules your flight, you can claim a refund via the Claims page form (cash to the original card, or an instant voucher if you prefer), and Avios bookings are returned to your Iberia Club account. Ancillaries follow their own rules, extra baggage purchases are explicitly non-refundable, and management fees are non-refundable unless the claim is for a delay, a cancellation or a flexible booking in the EU. Tickets bought through an agency or OTA must be cancelled with that agency, not with Iberia, except where Iberia cancelled the flight and the agency refuses to pay, which Iberia handles through a dedicated online form.

“If you need to cancel your flight, our service commitment allows you to claim a refund, if applicable, as long as you do so within 24 hours of your purchase. You can do this through Manage your booking, free of charge.”

How long does a Iberia refund take?
Most merchants agree to a straightforward refund within 1 to 3 working days of a well-written email request. Once agreed, the money itself takes another 3 to 5 working days to land, that part is card-network processing and no merchant can skip it. If nothing has arrived 10 working days after a written “refund approved”, reply on the same thread asking for the ARN (acquirer reference number), which your bank can trace.
Note Iberia’s own policy works on a 1-day window, ask inside it and the request is routine; outside it you’re relying on goodwill or statutory rights.

Refund FAQ for Iberia
Yes. Under Iberia's service commitment, a booking paid for immediately on **iberia.com**, the **app** or the **telephone contact centre** can be cancelled within **24 hours of purchase** and the refund, where applicable, requested free of charge through **Manage your booking**. After those 24 hours, whether you get anything back and what it costs depends entirely on your fare conditions, which are shown against your booking. US-market guidance adds the usual condition that departure must be at least seven days away. Tickets issued by an agency fall outside this, the agency has to process them.
